Great Grand Slam tee shirt man sausage-up
DOH!!!!
What a brilliant day yesterday. Got tickets, saw a Grand Slam... things could not be better.
On leaving the stadium, queued to buy my son a Grand Slam tee shirt....
After the queues and having to meet mates, decided to not bother.
So on the way out, saw street sellers selling Grand Slam tee shirts..... OK not official ones, but thought they looked good, had 2 welsh flags on the front with labels, Wales/Cymru Grand Slam 2012, on the back had the Welsh fixtures and results. Ok no score in for the Wales France game, but the fixture was there with the date, but you can understand that. I mean how can they print these so quickly.....
So for a tenner, why not......
This morning with a complete hang-over, the mrs says. Had a good day (well of course). Nice tee shirt you bought.... Thanks I thought.
She then said, "didn't realise Wales beat New Zealand in this 6 Nations".......
On looking at the back of the tee shirt, all the fixtures, dates, scores correct. With one exception...
Instead of Wales 27 - 13 Scotland, it says Wales 27 - 13 New Zealand.....
Anyone else get caught out with one of these.....

I dont think you were ripped off at all,you should have to pay thousands for a tee shirt like that.

Maesteg
Dont you worry at the moment I for one wouldnt be too quick to dismiss youre team.
By the way it was good to see the surface of your ground stand up to that game, the way your team are now playing (style) it is in their interests that they play on the best possible surface that can be produced.

I hear the WRU found some young lads who also happened to be experts in Hydroponics. They were discovered during the snow. When all had melted off the roof of the house they were renting.

Re: DOH!!!!
Fancy printing T-shirts before the slam was in the bag, I mean you can't believe it can you?
Any other team (one in particular) and that would be nothing but arrogance.
Keep the shirt Major, that might be worth a few quid in 30 years time, after Wales have tucked another 15 slams under their belts, you'll look back and think "I remember when we only used to win 3 in 8 years, we couldn't even print the shirts properly back then."

I think what you miss understand about last years Nike debacle, that caused such a stir, was not the T-Shirts it was the email that stated "when we win in Dublin on Saturday" with reference to the video, billboards and all that jazz..!

Re: DOH!!!!
Nope Maesteg, I just misunderstood the two weeks of indignation and offence the making of the video created as "another example of English arrogance" when anyone with half a brain knows that sort of thing is commonplace in the commercial world those type of people live in.
Of course, last year the laugh was on the English because England failed dismally against Ireland.
I don't wish to start a row and have no axe to grind, I just thought it was worthy of a mention and the liberal use of emoticons should show that I bear no ill will at all.
Enjoy the success, Wales were worth it.

Cheers glad you can appreciate the difference. England did well to win last year and well to get second after what looked like a faltering start this year.
Let's all dream of even brighter futures until the rest of rugby life outside the six nations continues..!

Re: DOH!!!!
Seems like an honest mistake to me. The way Scotland play the game at such a ruthless pace, combined with our sublime handling and try scoring prowess, mistaking us for the All Blacks seems inevitable...
Re: DOH!!!!
Dreaming is what it's all about Maesteg, the realisation of those dreams is the difference between good days on the park and the bad ones.
I'm glad Wales put the WC semi to bed yesterday, it was sorely needed. Those boys you have are seriously well motivated, mature and hugely talented, I don't begrudge Wales any of that as it's good for all of the NH teams to have someone raising the bar.
The fact that it's Wales and reminds me of the years (70's) that I fell in love with the game, adds a little bit of nostalgia to the romance, and it doesn't get much better than that.
I'm really looking forward to the Summer Tours, and as next years Lions squad will be largely made up of Wales' players, I'll be wearing Red (when England aren't playing) for June.
Go get 'em Wales.

Re: DOH!!!!
Long way to go before welsh rugby is as strong as it was in the seventies.
When the all blacks lost to Llanelli there must have been at least five village sides who had beaten Llanelli over the previous decade that thought they deserved a crack at the now not so mighty ABs.
Having played a few of those village sides myself there were some fantastic teams.
We are doing all we can, we seem to be doing the right things to turn rugby around. It's been a good twenty years of reinvention and I am sure there will be twenty more. Build from the ground up.
Successes like a good RWC performance, a SH win or a Granslam inspire kids to take the game seriously. Especially when lads like North, Williams, Cuthbert etc are only a few years older than school teams.
It also inspires adults who can coach to dust their boots off and renew their club membership.
Hopefully it will sell a few more tickets too.
It's all progress.
