Murray Denied Visa - Chavez Jr Fight Off!
Due to time spent in prison many years ago, Murray has not been able to secure a Visa in time to honour all the press and media tours etc so the fight is off.
I'm sure Martinez will glady step in and help him Chavez get out of this dilemma!
Chavez now needs to find another opponent who is not Martinez and justify why he's selected them

Drives me insane this VISA rubbish. He's going over there to fight not get drunk and party. He made a mistake years ago and his career could suffer because of it.

Macklin may get another crack? Or Barker? Still hard to justify over Martinez

Dmitry Pirog is available....
Oh yea, they dont want him to lose.
I think he would have flattened Murray anyway. I think Strum flattered both Macklin and Murray with just not being that good anymore.

If Chavez does not fight Martinez, then he is a fake fraud who is being smothered by the Pacquiao blanket in Bob Arum. Chumps.

He's already a fake fraud, this will just nicely cement it in place!

The WBC are scum and they have no shame. Jose Suilaman has on at least 2 occasions said Chevez must fight Martinez after an opponent then back tracked. No doubt Chavez will fight Pavlik.....but only after a month long binge fest followed by rehab and then allowing no time to train!

sounds like the kind of stipulations Bob Arum likes to impose with many of his fighters opposition!

I do sympathise with Murray, I tink the incident was around 8 years ago and since then he's apparently been the model citizen and a qualified youth worker helping kids so seems petty but the US are notoriously strict on entering their country.
Someone where I work is getting married and having their honeymoon there and her fiancé has a drink driving conviction 10 years ago from when he was 17. He got the Visa but only after originally being denied and had to go to the embassy for an interview!

What did Murray do in the first place? Was it as bad as getting caught drunk-driving a week before a fight?

Apparently fighting in a chip shop! He had previous so I believe it was this which was the deciding factor for him going down. I have no idea how serious the incident/s were though.

Really?? Wow that's fairly mild. I once had a scrap in a chip-shop a number of years back, I gave a lad a slap with a savloy sausage... (true story).
He was arrested for a salt and vinegar (not true).

Re: Murray Denied Visa - Chavez Jr Fight Off!
Anyone fancy a trip to Vegas or wherever Chavez Jr will be taking on TBA? If enough of us chipped in for flight tickets and ringside seats and in the middle of the fight started up the chant "ducker, ducker, ducker" then theoretically we could save boxing! Even Chavez wouldn't be able to ignore that...
Would he?
I'd need all my expenses paid for me however, to be repaid at a later date. I'm absolutely broke atm.

I'm in! We could wear T-Shirts (with the 606v2 logo advertised of course!) with all sorts of comments about him, we'd have to keep them hidden before the fight and then take our tops of at the same time and watch the carnage unfold!

If it was the Euro Millions i'd probably just pay him to fight Martinez, problem is it'll probably be the £100+ to get him to do it!

To be fair, Valero, it would be super funny and probably end up being more interesting than the fight itself.

Not a problem at all! If any of those outside the top 20 pay for their flights then ill pay for 2 nights accom, with a free urine up to celebrate Chavez's "distracting" loss!
