Which was the best Indiana Jones film?
Indiana Jones
Right.
A mini debate has sparked in the Over Rated Film Thread so I'm creating a new topic for it.
Indiana Jones. Where do you stand? Great films? Terrible films? Which are your favourites, and which ones just irk you?

Re: Indiana Jones
I would say over all the Indiana Jones films were awesome.
Raiders of the lost Ark = Awesome
Temple of Doom = Poops
Last Crusade = Awesome
Crystal Skull (even with gophers in it) = Good
Ark and crusade were great action films with a good ballance of comedy to boot. Temple of Doom was just bad, short round and willie scott were to indy what Jar Jar Binks was to Star Wars, just plain annoying. Crystal Skull, while it wasn't as good as 1 and 3 was better than Doom and head and shoulders above films like the Mummy and National Treasure, which were just a poor mans Indian Jones.

Am i the only person who liked Crystal Skull?
Please somebody back me up here there is no way the Mummy and National treasure were better. I could name loads of films worse than Crystal Skull, Happiness, Sex in the City, Bridget Bloody Jones to name but a few.
It wasn't that bad.

Sahara was quiet good.
But why do you hate Indy IV so much? Yes there were silly bits in the story such as Mut on the vines but all of the films had their stupid moments finding the Ark, falling from a plane and not so much as a bruise, finding a knight who had been alive for hundreds of years, it is what the films are about. Embrace the silliness or you will hate a hero forever.

Watch it again. Give it another chance .... don't hate Indy. For the sake of your childhood memories you owe it to yourself. Close your eyes when the gophers come on if you have to but give it another chance. Then if you still hate it I'll pray for your lost soul my friend. Maybe God will forgive you.

That proves nothing I mean did you look at those gimps? Those people have nothing better to do other than complain about all films because they are angry they have not got girlfriends and they are ugly.

Aqua Arab - I am sorry to pry but I looked at your email address through my admin powers and you are registered as G.Lucas@gmail.com
Anything you want to admit to?
The second clip actually pointed out pretty much what I came away thinking. I watched it on Sky Movies but still felt I should have got my money back!

I admit I am the world famous Geof Lucas the illegitimate child of George.
This debate is getting u nowhere fast. We will just have to agree to differ (even though I am right) and move on.
So Temple of Doom what a load of old cobblers that film was!!!

Re: Indiana Jones
I liked the original 3, thought they were excellent with the right amount of comedy to action.
The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull however is awful, the actors are alright in it but the story is just ridiculous, even for an Indiana Jones film.
Aliens have no place in an Indiana Jones film for me

But it was set in the 50's around the time of Roswell, it was in keeping with the period.

You summed it up perfectly YI!
Re: Indiana Jones
What is wrong with hiding in a fridge from a nuclear explosion? It's a film!!! It's not real life, he's not a real person it was made to entertain. Is hiding in a fridge from a nuclear explosion any more silly than finding the Ark? Or a three hundred year old knight guarding the Holy Grail?

Ahh, but the knight drank from the cup of eternal life. Thats how he was able to live to 300yrs old.

You can only suspend reality to a certain point, surviving in a fridge from a uclear explosion is that drop too far

So you think that you have more chance of finding the Ark (Gods throne on earth) than surviving a nuclear explosion in a fridge?

Re: Indiana Jones
A young engineer named Tsutomu Yamaguchi was just finishing a three month long business trip in the city of Hiroshima. The young oil tanker designer was on his way to the train station to go home when an atomic bomb exploded overhead, throwing him to the ground and burning him badly. He was lucky enough to be evacuated from the city by train the next day back to his hometown of... Nagasaki.
On August 9th, Yamaguchi was back at work at the Mistubishi plant, his burns covered in bandages, explaining to his coworkers about what had happened in Hiroshima, and how the entire city had been destroyed by a single bomb. His boss began yelling at him telling him he must have sustained brain damage because no bomb was that powerful, and that his story bordered on treason. At that moment the skies over Nagasaki erupted in the second atomic detonation on earth. Though most of the Mitsubishi plant was destroyed, a steel stairwell sheltered Yamaguchi's office and he became the only person to survive both atomic bomb blasts.
Tsutomu Yamaguchi , the luckiest, or perhaps unluckiest, man alive died January 4th, 2009, at the age of 93.
And your telling me Indy wouldn't survive in a fridge??? Plus in the 1950's fridges were lined with lead to keep the cold in. Lead would have protected him from the blast.

Re: Indiana Jones
I see where AquaArab is going with the fridge issue, all the films had mildly silly moments, but for me the whole idea of Indy IV was wrong. Why make Indy old? With a son? And I agree with whoever said aliens don't belong in an Indiana Jones film.
So yeah my ranking
1) Lost Ark - awesome film, watched it many times and still enjoy it. The bad guy was cool too.
2) Last Crusade - very good movie.
3) Temple of Doom - step below the above two but still thoroughly enjoyable
4) Crystal Skull - well I've dished it a bit further up, but I do agree with AquaArab that it's better than the Mummy, which was just awful.

Finally somebody who at least agrees with some of what I say. Now all I need is somebody else who enjoyed the film. There is has to be somebody on these boards who liked it. I'm not saying it is the best film ever made but it wasn't the worst. There has been a lot worse films than Indy IV.

I agree: the Mummy, the Mummy returns, Percy Jackson and the lightning thief, Daredevil, Matrix Revolutions, the latest Robin Hood, Star Wars Episode II, I could go on...

Re: Indiana Jones
I voted the Crystal Skull. It is one of my favourite films of all time, supplemented by a phenomenal closing scene. I love it!
The way they survive a nuclear explosion while in a fridge is first class script writing in my opinion.

In years to come, aliens from another world will stumble upon this archived thread and deduce from it that we were of limited intelligence.
Alien 1: Our records show that humans of 2011 voted Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as their favourite Indy film
Alien emperor: Is that the one with the gophers and where Indy survives a ground zero atomic blast in a fridge
Alien1: yes emperor!
Alien Emperor: So Darwins theory was wrong! People have devolved at the beginning of the 21st century.
Alien1: yes emperor
Alien Emperor: God have mercy on their souls.
