League Breakdown and Rules
- Spoiler:
- Welcome to the 606v2 Euro Division
Where this will be different to the existing leagues is that the sides involved are entirely made up.
You don't inherit a pre-made European side.
Instead you make your own.
You would initially start with £150m with which to buy a MINIMUM of 15 players and a MAXIMUM of 23 players.
The prices for these players are determined entirely through the transfermarkt website.
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/
But here's where it gets interesting...the prices that are used on transfermarkt are the minimum you can bid, because other people in the league may also want the same person, so do you risk bidding the flat fee or do you bid more (increased bids have to be a minimum £500k more), the other point of note at this stage is that the maximum value player you can bid on is £15m (though you can choose to bid more than the £15m to get the player)
You then get an ADDITIONAL £50m with which to purchase upto 2 STAR players (min 1), though the maximum you can spend on 1 player is £35m.
This will then result in you having a team of a minimum of 16 players and maximum of 25 players.
You then have to name the team, give it a location where they play their home games and send this via PM to myself and Sodhat before the cut off point (to be decided).
Results of who got which player will then be announced and for those that lost out on players due to being outbid, a second chance is available to acquire players before the league starts, and third etc if needed.
Number of leagues is dependent upon how many players participate.
Foreign transfers.
As the only deciding factor for selling a player is cash then there shouldn't be wrangles over if a TP is accepted or not, if you have the cash you can buy!
TPs though will only go through once a week on a Sunday night for the week ahead.
Max transfer value for bringing in a player from foreign transfers is £15m in Season 1.
You can only make 2 foreign transfers per week.
Domestic transfers
Players can move only twice between domestic clubs per season, once they have moved twice you will have to wait until the following season to sell to another domestic club.
They can though be released or sold to an outside club.
For anyone that joins the league after it begins then the following rule applies for the first two weeks:
Transfers between 2 domestic clubs must be within 20% of each other in total monetary value. So for example if Team A wish to buy a player from Team B worth £10m then they must offer between £8-£12m in player/cash value.
Note that once 2 weeks have passed then the manager is allowed to but and sell as they please but this rule is in place to combat the usual bombardment of silly offers that litter the new managers page.
Injuries
Injuries shall be announced once per week on a Sunday night, they shall consist of 2 players, one based from the team picked for the previous weeks game and one from the entire squad.
Tactics
Each week you shall play 1 game, either league or cup (no more than one game per week though), tactics for this game shall consist of a team sheet, injuries for your team, if your team is home or away and a maximum of 15 bullet point lines worth of team instructions.
As well as the tactical instructions you are allowed 2 extra lines of a team talk to motivate your players, show your worth not just for tactics but how you build players up for the game!
Cash
Each week you receive 2m for a win, 1m for a draw, zilch for a loss.
You also receive an extra £2m per week for ensuring your tactics are handed in on time and you've voted on the results.
Each week there shall be a £1m cash bonus to the team voted best tactics.
Hopefully this is enough to entice to sign up! If you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to ask and I look forward to seeing your team sheets!

Due to the fixture list, by Wednesday I could have a league record of Played 3, Won 3 with 3 default wins!
Obviously through no fault of my own (Carling week 1, Bull busy week 2, Shuntingsheep week 3) but what would happen to my side if those two were draftyed out? And for the rest of the season?

Surely it'd be like when a club goes bust in real life - all points and goals scored by playing those no longer in existence are removed.
You'd keep the Bull result though

Nah, doesn't take two minutes to Google a name and get a feel for the player.
Your not talking about spending half an hour watching Youtube videos, more getting a feel for general feeling for a player.
If you google Mertens, I am sure you could spend a few minutes looking at a few stories on him and get an understanding of how good he has been this season

I feared that'd be the answer.
So despite making the effort with my tactics on a consistent basis (even done proper tactics for the Shuntingsheep match just in case a new manager was found) I'd be the one who loses out the most? To the tune of 6 points and £4M in win bonuses?

Yeah but you are relying on people to do the same. Mertens looks quality but I would sooner have Gabby in that position. He may not be as good as Mertins but he is "of the now" and more well known. This is the problem Fan had.....all well and good flaunting your knowledge but if others don't do the same then you are stuffed.
A season on here is a lot quicker than a season in RL, and I can't snap up Mertins on the off chance that come ED Season 3, he gets snapped up in the summer and becomes the next Messi.

I wouldn't have thought your win bonuses would come out - just the points which would affect others too (although clearly you're the unluckiest)

That is my case in point.
I agree that you play the game in front of you and that means having players who are rated by the other managers.
However, if other managers are not open to learning about new players, then the league becomes a closed shop of Premier League, a bit of La Liga and the world stars.
If it hadn't been for the likes of Fan, players like Vidal would not carry the rating they have now.
You need both kinds of manager and both sides to be more open to the other.

Either let them be up for sale or, my view, draft them out. Apart from the star players.
Should come to three extra footballers per team. Gav knows what I am talking about as we had a draft in WWA.
Hopefully the above. A WWA style draft could work. It seems like we are never going to get managers for those two clubs.

What about teams that are already close to their squad limits though?
Problem here is that with no release function all you can do is wait for a lawyer. Unless as part of the draft there was an option to dump a player for a draft pick in advance.

Can i suggest an idea to make a fair draft?
Get someone to number all the players 1- 40 however many there is then someone else make a list of order and then say you can choose 3 numbers and which ever player is that number you get.
So say YI justs 33.16.2
He'd get who ever is them numbers

Maybe...but you could end up with three GK's
I am fine with how to do it as long as no star players are involved. Just those that cost less than 15M (both Fan and ITFL were not present for the 17.5M fee increase).
The star players can then be open for normal TP bids then

We'll still have to make an order for draft participants however, and I'm guessing everyone will have to be around at a similar time?

Not really..the WWA draft went on for several days. When people come online and it was their turn they then picked. Then you wait for the next person. We are all pretty regular on here so I doubt it would take more than a day or two. Just depends if someone is busy for those two days and can't get on. Which means we are waiting for them to make their pick.

With the WWA draft we just took it and turns to pick and just waited for our turn. I think it was completed in 3 days with 14 people each picking 2 guys 1 at a time.

It's not like that. You just give him a time and a place and then you pull up next to his car, wind down your window, and exchange your money for a brown bag full of seeds. Not shady at all.

My lawn care is the best in the business!
Im currently doing a quote for a Prem Club for some Perimeter Netting (behind goal so people dont get whacked by the ball) and I asked the groundsman if it was to stop little kids in the stand getting their wrist broken, he said nah It to stop Sylvan hitting balls in the canal at the training ground.
