Danny Care : What a guy
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-17490607
So the " to be fair weeing in a plant pot isnt that bad he was just unlucky to get caught" theory goes out the window.
Leeds of all places as well, have some dignity mate.
This also makes it cleaer why Lancaster was so hard on him, compared to how new zealand for example handled similar problems.
Its taken a long time for this part of the story to come out, I assume theres been some agreement between the law and the RFU to avoid it getting splaheshed all over the papers at a high profile time during the 6 nations and have th kind of trail by media we saw the world cup players subjected to.
England rugby player Danny Care has been questioned about an alleged sexual assault on a woman in Leeds.
The 25-year-old Harlequins scrum-half was arrested following an incident in the early hours of Sunday, 4 March.
He has already accepted a police caution for being drunk and disorderly on that night after he was arrested for urinating outside the Queens Hotel.

Alleged - of course it's a serious allegation - who on here is doubting that

Re: Danny Care : What a guy
Correct on both counts.
There has been sometime to investigate between the initial arrest and now though, so it does seem theres probably more to this than the nonsense with the walkie talkie at the world cup.

Well that´s his rugby career in an England shirt well and truly over. You can understand drinking but rugby just doesn´t attract male viewers. Women make up an important part of the target audience and anybody found guilty of such charges won't be tolerated being in the national setup. Do not pass go. Go directly to jail.

Yes sorry if found guilty. I thought I had written that but thought of Friday beer clouded my judgement. That´s my story your honour and I stand by it!

IMO that’s enough, he should be made an example of and never be allowed to represent England again.

No smoke without fire, guilty or not enough is enough, I say make an example out of him as a warning to all other present and future England players.

Indeed, he's innocent at present and we have no idea of the circumstances surrounding any 'incident'.
What happened to Armitage by the way? Did he ever get charged?

Re: Danny Care : What a guy
Can't quite bring myself to start the 'so he's that sort of guy' rant as I remember his action of stopping play and calling the ref with England in possession when he saw that Stoddart was down with a broken leg in the first RWC warm-up.
At this point it seems fair to say innocent until proven guilty. For all we know it could be some equally drunk bimbo hunting for money and publicity after noticing who he was.
Having said that Care doesn't seem to be the brightest spark off the field on the evidence thus far. These are the sort of demons that England want to distance themselves from at this point.

Somebody makes a allegation and he gets named for a serious offense.
There should be a law that either both parties are named or none at all.
But if found guilty then name them

Re: Danny Care : What a guy
Well Conner's just been interviewed on ESPN and he said they know all the facts and know how it'll turn out. They fully support him. He also said that Care is a target now and he needs to understand that; they're working on what he needs (I presume either reducing alcohol consumption or media/celebrity training).
Hopefully it'll be resolved quickly.
EDIT: I don't think anyone should be named until proven guilty

Re: Danny Care : What a guy
What he needs is to grow up. At just the time his international career should be blossoming he is doing all he can to screw it up. I have little patience for talented players acting like delinquent teenagers. Hopefully this latest accusation will prove unfounded but give him the scare of his life and make him realise he is in the public eye and the media's sights.

I totaly agree with you why is Danny Care's name all over the papers, and this woman who ever she is remains unknown?
It seem the law is still sexist when it comes to this sort of thing. Name the man not the woman. totaly wrong.
Name both in the first place, either that or do not name any body untill the investigation is over, THEN name the guilty one only.

I think it's more, name the accused rather than the accuser (or victim if you will). As I said earlier I'd rather no-one was named until found guilty.

Yeah but if the accused is found to be innocent, then the accuser is the perpetrator

Yeah, as I said I don't think anyone to be named. However to suggest there is some sexist aspect to the law is a bit daft.

Re: Danny Care : What a guy
I don't think the police and legal system name the person, but they do have to confirm certain information when asked by reporters, who then quite easily work it out.
In this case it was...
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 25-year-old man, from Surrey, was arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a woman in Leeds in the early hours of Sunday, March 4. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Combined with Care returning to Leeds for an interview a few weeks later.

Quite right, none of us were there so we don't know what happened.
Sadly though this guy doesn't have a good track record, he needs to grow up and sort himself out, and keep away from these kind of problems.

The guy is an absolute idiot.
Whether guilty or not of this serious crime, he has a fantastic talent, he is England's best Scrum half and he is willing to throw that away on indecent behaviour outside of the game.
Four Arrests since december, all drink related.

Connor O'Shea quoted as saying: “Danny has made mistakes that I would never condone. But you have to trust us when we say we are aware of absolutely everything and we are absolutely supportive of him on this one.”
O'Shea would surely have to be pretty certain of Care's innocence to be as clear and supportive as that.

Its a real shame that this is happening but there has to be a line drawn here and that is innicent until proven guilty.
If he is found guilty then in all honesty he should never represent England again.

3, 2 for the same night. One of which, judging by recent statements, may well turn out to be another pile off bullcr@p on a level with what didnt happen in NZ. However yes hes a complete spoon to get himself in this situation again. If the harassment allegation comes to nothing he still stands in the same position as previously, someone who has failed to address problems caused by his drinking.

I was in O'Shea's press conference on Saturday, he was pretty emphatic about it, he repeated that a couple of times.
