Wales to get ridiculously strong
First topic message reminder :
Looks like King North will move to France in maybe 3 or 4 years time when he is JUST 22 or 23! By his own admission he will be 8'5" tall and weight a whopping 33 stone. He will also be able to run the 200 metres in 6 seconds (while walking).
If Cuthbert goes then Wales will have a copious amount of international squad players playing in France. In my opinion this is the best thing ever. Yes regional rugby will suffer even more, but it is already a disaster. We cannot go back in time and put it right, but at least the national team is doing well.
In a few years time Wales will have 20/30 international players playing in France (young and experienced or both) and the rest of our young superstars will be playing week in week out in the Pro 12.
Last weeks win for the O's out in Leinster shows what good giving inexperienced players regular rugby does.
In the long run this will be EXTREMELY detrimental to France. World cup finalists to 4th in the Six Nations. It will only get worse. It shows that Wales really should have been in the final. They scored the only try and had 14 men. Only poor kicking let us down. 2 matches v France and not a try conceded, 3 wins in a row v Ireland and 2 in a row v England. This is a Wales I have never seem. Brutal and heroic defence is key to winning. I won't mention Scotland because it's about 39 wins in a row v Wales. I was at Murrayfield in 2007 and I can safely say it was worse than Wales v England 1998, the most boring thing ever. We have come a long way.
The most frightening thing about Wales is that our best players are our youngest players. I just hope we can blood a long term star for Phillips and find players to liken Geth and Adam. These guys are level headed, there is no more drink, golf buggies or stupid "my grandslam year" autobiographies. These boys are becoming like the allblacks. Play to the death, never give up, fear of losing and can only understand winning.
I like Stuart Lancaster and I like that fact that England are picking form players and picking youth. There are no more idiots or egos in the squad, much like Wales.
I think the Six Nations 2013 will be brutal. I don't think France or Ireland have a chance in hell of winning anything. Wales and England will get stronger, but I still expect Wales to come out on top.

'Wales to get ridiculously strong'
Pride comes before a fall according to the Bible, and it seems that with Welsh Rugby fans, Hot air comes after B.S.
When oh when, will these people from the 'Principality' learn, that you have to achieve something, before you are arrogant, and until you have won the Webb-Ellis, it will all be Hot air and attitude!!
Bye for now.

Re: Wales to get ridiculously strong
So 4th in NZ and a GS in quick succession qualifies as B.S does it?
This just in, in case you didn't know, Wales have achieved a great deal. The Webb Ellis isn't the only stick to measure with. In the last nine years Wales are second only to France in terms of achievement by NH teams and top 4 or 5 in the world also by achievement. So by your logic Welsh rugby fans have plenty to be arrogant about if we so choose.
Not that the Welsh in general have been arrogant even this exceptional season. Sensible posters know very well that this thread doesn't reflect the national attitude.
Still totally worth it on some level just to draw from the woodwork and see the chips pile up on some shoulders

Knowsit/ View, Its B.S because you haven't yet done it against the SH sides and have never won a World cup, or even been in a final.
Wales lost as many as they won in the last WC, but they did play well in the 6 nations, so credit, where credit is due, but Worldbeaters, they most certainly aren't, and this summers tour will confirm just that!

England aren't world beaters either, how many players right here right now have won a world cup or a six nations grand slam?
Stop living in the past your sounding like English football fans banging on about 1966.

Wales are in the box seat to get 'ridiculoulsy' strong after the 6N but so could the other nations. Eng finally under SL, the Scots and Ireland getting better in adversity. Who knows Interesting to see that now the #bandwagon is away what if Wales fail to beat any of the SH sides this year. Will it be like 08/09 all over again?

View- Stop living in the past ?
Good point , but as Wales have NEVER won a world cup in Rugby, football or cricket, we'll never know just how you would react , and something tells me we never will !!!
It seems that Welsh rugby fans constantly regurgitate tales from the sides of the 70's, so i'm very sceptical that Welsh fans wouldn't be rubbing it in, if they had won and England hadn't, just like we do to you !!
I could also trot out the old faithful remarks, such as ,
'At least England have a past to live in' But i of course would never be so dismissive. Bye for now.

Re: Wales to get ridiculously strong
Ignorance or arrogance?GENTLEMEN please,i`m an Anglo-Scot,THE biggest All Black fan you will ever meet.BUT i`m still proud of my Home Countries achievements. I was very proud that England 2001-3 were arguably the best in the world.Or that they won the RWC in 2003,BUT by BOTH of the winning sides
they were poor by there usual standards. Both sides had one good game during
it the Semi`s,it was the last gasp act of a Great Team just!!!
Wales are I believe the RWC sevens champs,so that settles that argument, there record head to head and in Championships is VERY similar to Englands.Head to Head England are plus one so there`s nothing in it.
As to saying a Countries nothing unless they have won a RWC is RUBBISH,only 4 teams have won one.3 of those have won on more than one occassion and are consistently in the top 3 sides IRB ratings for YEARS.
I don`t know, and can`t be bothered to check how many times England and Wales have met in a RWC or the results.I do KNOW when England fans were
bating the ALL BLACKS fans on there RWC record.THAT they have never beaten
them in a RWC match.
In knockout tournaments you don`t have to beat the BEST team in that Tournament just whoever you meet.
THAT is not degrading ANYONE who has won a RWC,because EVERY RWC has been won by an unbeaten side.
Who`s to say IF the RWC had been in 2005,2006,or 2008 the AB`s wouldn`t have won in 2006 or Wales in 2005 or 2008.
EVERY International matters, theres no such thing as a friendly[or should`nt be],as to France never knowing who`s going to turn up?Destroy everyone and lose to Italy?.Play a RWC ,beat the AllBlacks and lose to Argentina TWICE.Play one decent match in a RWC then moan because they lost a final, after losing to Tonga?
The fact is Wales had a reasonably good RWC,built on it and won a Grand Slam.
England after a good 2010 Championship, went back into RWC risk nothing mode
and exited early.
With a New team England are now showing promise.NEITHER side look like world beaters realistically.

Re: Wales to get ridiculously strong
got to agree on the comment of which france turn up rubbish- people talk about 2012 rwc lol forget about england 2007.. point is its all about what ever team turns up- not exculsively france!!!
france are not some magic side!!
if england or wales turn up against france they beat em- simple- everybody stop putting france on a pedastool- yes i get its easier to deal with losses by doing this.. but us english dont put em on a pedastool and yet we beat em all the time!!
stop the annoying cliche "which france will turn up"

Re: Wales to get ridiculously strong
My point is still a relevant one...
all of the NH sides would get comfortably beaten by all 3 top SH sides.
I dont like it - but its a fact.

Well Wales lost by 1 point to SA and by a couple to Aus without Warburton - I wouldn't call that comfortably

Why resurrect a thread by a banned poster? It was posted as a WUM in the first place and attracted the slanging match it aimed to attract. You are just perpetuating the WUM and trying to ruffle feathers yourself, unfortunately.

Re: Wales to get ridiculously strong
Wales will get better because there players are all playing Top 14 but it is detrimental to France.?
Since France only ever have 55% France qualified players it will hardly hurt them.
Conversely UNLESS you can get the IRB to get a grip player release for squad
training and selection will become a bigger problem.
Why would French clubs pick Welsh Players over the SH teams?
The 5 second rule at the ruck may get Wales playing,it is a pet hate of mine the 9.Sitting eaching his sandwiches and drinking his tea so slow was the delivery while the other side sets it defensive line.
interesting thread BUT lets wait an see on the results shall we.

Klaatu barada nikto--a command that stops his mission of destruction. Although no exact translation was given in the film, it appears that the phrase operates as a fail-safe feature to be used during diplomatic missions.
