By the way, I rate Cuthbert higher than North.
Interesting. Why? George seems a much more rounded player to me. Better under the high ball, better tackler and a more consistant threat in attack. Too me Cuthbert is very much a work in progress. Any French club chasing him should be careful about what they wish for. He should take the Cardiff deal and develop the weak areas of his game, Of all the players he is the one who seems to be a little bit affected by his media and the attention he is getting. Someone needs to have a word or he could disappear as quickly as he arrived

I rate North higher too. Cuthbert will fade away while I suspect North will go from strength to strength

When I saw cuthbert the first time he had a confidence and belief in wat he was doing, I said this before and got shot down, but I beleive his work rate in defence is superior to that of North.
Don't get me wrong, I like both players, but on V2 there is an almost obssession like appraisal of all things north, and in my view Cuthbert has as much promise as North. Also when you look at the extra dimension Cubert has brought to the Welsh back line it has in my view completed the last pice of puzzle, and wihtou wanting to blow the welsh "psyche" even more, they now have a pretty complete back line.
My only concern for them though is 9 and 10.
Phillips is good at most of wat he does, but when he starts running with ball in hand he isn't looking to offload until too late.
Priestland in my view is not the best technical kicker out of hand, he made a good number of errors in execution, and on turn over ball he still tends to kick as first insticnt too often.
But hey, that is just my outsider's perspective.

Wales on the surface is doing very well right now but in reality the foundations are built on sand and the future of the national team is precarious enough.
Welsh regional rugby is not working, it isn't paying the bills. Hence big regions such as the Ospreys and the Blues are haemorrhaging top class players who are chasing big pay packets abroad. Whatever way you look at this it doesn't bode well for the national team.
Look at Italy. All their top players play in France and are expected back to their clubs during six nations off weeks. They play far more matches than Irish players for example and are wrecked by the end of the tournament.
Mike Philips for example is on big money at Bayonne and is contracted for another couple of years. Bayonne are odds on to be in the second division next year. Is this really what you want from your first choice 9?
Even if the likes of Warburton and Roberts stay with the Blues with all expensive foreigners leaving and high profile Welshmen gone will their ambition suffer?

....to add if all your best players are playing abroad it will mean no more pre 6n trips to Poland for conditioning training which apparently has given Wales the edge recently.
