Klitschko vs Thompson II
Looks like the rematch that absolutely no one was calling for has been arranged.

I presume Thompson has got himself into position as a mandatory challenger for one of the belts, anyone see this being different from the first match?

They've lapped the field.

Re: Klitschko vs Thompson II
Not something I'm looking forward to but at least old Tony has earned his shot. The IBF made an elimination tourney - several fighters ducked out of it but Thompson won it.
I would have preferred Wlad to have gotten this fight out of the way instead of the taking part in the Mormeck farce.

At least he is fighting a heavy weight this time around. And we have all agreed that it's not his fault if there isn't any decent opposition around (unlike one or two other fighters, but let's not open that particular can of worms again!!)

Apparentekly the winner gets Arreola which is more appealing but still not a challenge.
If it wasn't for the fact the Klits can still earn millions for fighting meaningless fights with no risk i'm sure they would have retired by now but you can't blame them it's not their fault the opposition is so poor!

Re: Klitschko vs Thompson II
Given that holding all four of the major belts is top priority for the Klitschkos, there was always a chance of a disappointing mandatory defence such as this cropping up. If there was a more attractive fight out there for Wlad, I'd prefer him to dump the IBF belt in favour of it - but there isn't.

It just highlights how easy it is to earn a shot at them which is why I dont buy these arguments that they owe fighters that cant or wont earn a shot a living.

I'm sure it will still sell out a massive arena in Germany where the crowd will be clapping at jabs.

The crowd in Germany are idiots. They cheer loudly for jabs that don't even land.
