Quick start from zbik but sturm is finding the target with his jab and zbik is hitting arms and gloves and little else

Sturms jab is starting to tell. Started round 5 with four scoring jabs, he seems more active in this fight, makes me wonder how seriously he took Macklin and Murray.

Zbik is starting to look like a mess, he's eaten so many jabs

that was a bloomin good win. Strum did well.

What were the scores?

Zbik didn't come out for the 9th round

Sturm was ahead on my card, zbik was decent offensively but was carved open by strums jab and looked a beaten man for a round or 2

Quite surprised, thought Sturm UD, but not a stoppage or retirement.

What was Zbik like? Did he underperform or was Sturm just too good?

Strum was too good mate. Got off to a slow start but could miss in the end. He done a job on Zbik's face

Sturms jab and speed today were excellent, far better performance than his last 2 outings. JCC jr struggled to beat Zbik and many thought he lost to him, yet Sturm won without too many problems. Pretty much emphasises the point we all know and that is JCC jr is garbage.

Styles make fights and all that mate, but does give me a modicum of hope that Andy Lee can defeat Chavez. I'll try and watch the replay tomorrow as the Euro Olympic qualifier has been put back until Sunday now.

The thing is though zbik fought quite similar to when he fought Chavez. The problem was that when he threw, sturm would catch it on his arms whereas Chavez took them with his face. Chavez didn't throw too many straight shots either. Zbik tried to push sturm back but felix was strong.

Sturm would give chavez fits, he can take a body shots really well and could jab him half to death. Sturm is bigger than Rubio also so he won't get out muscled.

Macklin deserves a rematch stil ad this sturm tonight was a lot better than the one that fought matthew

Anyone reckon Macklin could give JCCjr a real run for his money? Think we may all be slightly underestimating the British trio...

More like over-estimating them. Macklin seems the best of the trio though. I'd pick him over Barker and Murray.

I said Macklin would be a real real hard test for julio, but the other 2 I'm not sure.

Barker has good fundamentals, but lacks the stamina or the power to be a world champion. He fought very cautiously vs Martinez but still got tired. Murray as well, I thought sturm beat him, and doesn't have anything that he's very good at.

Macklin has shown he can bang with the big guys by out working and out muscling sturm and has shown great boxing skills in our boxing Martinez For parts of there fight.

Chavez has bullied his opponents, most of them 154lber fighters , and Macklin can cope physically with him
