Rios weighs in 137lbs

This is getting ridiculous. The guy said he had a nutritionist and was feeling better than ever.
Abril is a better boxer than Murray so if he fights like he did last time abril can cause the upset.
Rios could sacrifice a big fight at 140 with marquez if he loses this

Re: Rios weighs in 137lbs
This guy is a complete man sausage. What makes it even worse is that in the UK it is on Boxnation. I was going to subscribe to watch this fight and of course Marquez. But now, after seeing him come in AGAIN overweight, even though he was saying he was with a nutritionist, i will not be paying a penny.
For a guy that talked smack against Gamboa, to then come in overweight again, is just disrespectful of the paying public.
Hope he moves up, fights pac man, and gets knocked out cold.
Tinkywinky.
Im fuming.

Its not his fault. This isnt a case of a lazy guy not making the effort. Its been clear for a while now the guy cant make the limit. Hes enormous at the weight and walks around at super middle. They need to get out of the weight class and into a division he can handle.

What makes this slightly worse is that he weighed in at 137 first time, went away to try and shed those two pounds, came back and weighed 139!

He simply cant make weight. Calling him a man sausage is unfair. Try asking Floyd to make lightweight and see if he physically can.
Time to move up and perhaps to welterweight.

Can only presume they didn't even try to lose the extra 2 pounds and just had to take some fluid on board before he collapsed. I really think this spells the end of Rios as a world level operator, the only reason he's been effective so far is that he is HUGE at the weight, take that away with a move up to 140lb or 147lb and you have a very ordinary boxer.

Its always difficult to tell with weight. I think Rios would still be massive at 140lb. He has to take so much out of himslef to make lightweight that hes probably drained at the weight and therefore actually less powerful.
Somebody like Ortiz for example went from being big at 140lb to being big at 147lb and the added benefit of not draining himself seemed to make him even stronger.

Rios needs to move up.He looked like a ghost AGAIN at the weigh in. Why hasn't he moved up? Does he want to be so dehydrated he ends up risking his health. Idiotic

Think hes too big for the weight, he simply can no longer make the weight.

I dont think it's a lack of commitment though, I just think he's in dreamland if he thinks he can make 135. There is an interview where he seems really peed off, saying that he was kidding himself as he has been working so hard but he can't get those final lbs off. He has already said its his last fight at 140 but a defeat tonight can be very damaging

He best win, or his big fight with JMM may not come off, and it really looks like Abrils coming to fight.
