Initially Mallinder was the hot property.
And there were loads of calls for foreign coaches like Jake White et al.
Eventually Stuart Lancaster was tentatively (later fully) appointed.

Good luck for Tigers' fans that Richard Cockerill had 23 players missing on RWC duty/injured list then?
