Random Factor, Like A Tractor...

Hello. Following its roaring success on the old 606 (winner of six Luckies*) I thought I'd provide a space on 606v2 for you to post any irrelevant little things you fancy sharing.
I'll start: I've always had trouble with the line 'Love grows where my Rosemary goes.' If they'd chosen another name like Anne or Susan there'd be no problem, but rosemary's a herb so it could be 'Love goes where my rosemary grows.'

I met a couple of lesbians in Lanzarote last year. They were snorkelling for clams.

Re: Random Factor, Like A Tractor...
Best go to Circular Quay from southern line (might have to change at Central), then walk up the steps called "The Nurses Walk" up to Gloucester/Cumberland St.

Is that the one you're thinking of?

Re: Random Factor, Like A Tractor...
Have you seen the remake of the Wicker Man? It's no good at all. In the original, you can see the terror in Edward Woodward's eyes when he sees the wicker man; in the remake, Nicolas Cage just looks mildly confused.

Yeah the Nicolas Cage one was pretty poor compared to the original.

Re: Random Factor, Like A Tractor...
It's almost a 'so bad it's good' film. Everything that made the original so sinister has been changed in the remake. Nicolas Cage is just so wooden in it, it's a stinker of a performance.

I do think that the girl in the Nicolas cage one is rather sexy though

Re: Random Factor, Like A Tractor...
That's an example of a change they made that ruined the film. In the original, Edward Woodward plays a dour, god-fearing copper and that makes his revulsion at what happens all the greater. In the remake, Nicolas Cage is some kind of playboy lothario.

Re: Random Factor, Like A Tractor...
What do they call that in Hollywood, Artistic Interpretation?
The whole film just didnt have the suspense of the original.

Perhaps he thought he was acting the wicker man, that's a sort of cage as well

Re: Random Factor, Like A Tractor...
Nicholas Cage doesn't "act". He's just Nicholas Cage in every single film he's in. Same as how John Wayne is always just John Wayne.

set of 'The Greatest Story Ever Told'
John Wayne: (looking at Jesus on the cross) 'He truly was the son of god'
Director George Stevens: 'John, can you say it with more awe'
John Wayne: Awww, he truly was the son of god.
