The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Belfast, as Red Stag is still struggling to come to terms with Munsters QF loss to Ulster
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Brian McLaughlin, John Hart, Duncan Bell, Michael Lynagh, Mick O'Driscoll, Deiniol Jones and Shane Williams.
Get well "Noddy" Lynagh - our thoughts are with you.

Annual performance review. We do peer reviews, self review and manager reviews.
It's no big deal though, was just chit chatting. I'll figure our what to do.
Here, just saw ROGs wife tweeted that his twins had just asked thier dad how to kick the ball like Johnny!

Evening.
The pub has ventured to Belfast...
That's a bit early. My Boy's not there yet...
Ticket sales are very good for the O's match on Friday. Shane wants to retire more often. Should be a great derby for all concerned.

Mickado - although Shane's playing until the end of the season (I think), this was the last definate home game of the season in the fixtures, so they organised his farewell around it. It's a great way for a local player to have a party - a Welsh derby.

Ha, he could very well be playing there again twice and against a Welsh team in the final!
Still, leg-end of a player. Deserves a good send off.

Evening all. My dad's got an iPhone. Had to go and show him how to use it, but I got homemade sausage rolls so it was worth it!

Munsty, Barca will win and could do it comfortably. Yesterday's game was superb.

I don't see Chelsea getting a draw. Barca's league performances may not be great recently but they tend to step it up in the CL. I also thought Real's defending was shocking yesterday.

Still, if Ulster start getting away trips in Europe in a similar way to Munster there's a gap in the market to be exploited; we've had no real reason to travel en masse to games in the past 13 years. As shown by the demand for the Ulster ticket allocation at Stadium:MK and Thomond Park, there is a good base of fans who enjoy travelling when they get the chance. Somebody could profit from that.
Looks like there's still about 7,000 tickets remaining for the semi-final though. The premium seats have by far the most availability.

Notch,
I think going on Tour with your Tribe is the most rewarding sporting experience of all. I love it.
Missing the Bordeaux game is breaking my heart. But its family 1st for Queens Day in the Dam.
Going to miss me and de Chef pucking and hackling each other during the game. So much fun.
At last years game, a graceful and bemused ASM Lady fan turned to me in the middle of it all and said "Puis-je demander, êtes-vous deux amis?".
I said, "We are great friends, but only before and after the game. Never during it"
Funnily enough, we met Wayne barnes in the Leinster supporters pub after it. Chef had his say...
Not sure Im happy about him for this one. He's a "Homer". Still it could be wurst, it could be the inept Pearson.
How do Ulster and Edinburgh fans feel about getting Poite?
Id rather have Nige over all of em.
P,S. T, I think Chelsea (as much as I dislike them from my 70's Leeds days) can beat Barca vanavond. My son is in a bar in Sydney getting ready for it. He is a CFC fanatic.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Belfast
Yeah I agree Gibbo, I'd rather have Owens too. Poite wasn't actually that great in the semi-final, although some of his calls actually benefited us, and I feel like he's not the same level of communicator as Owens. Owens is the best. I hope the reason he's just AR in Bordeaux is he's lined up for the Final. Whats bizarre is we had Poite in the quarter-final last year too. So at this point we should be familiar enough with him for it not to be an issue for us.
What I'm terrified about is the situation at tighthead... Probably have to watch Tom Court play in a position he clearly doesn't suit and has been exposed at in the past. Monsieur Poite is a stickler for scrum penalties.

So true Willser. Woooooo Cole saves the day!
I just dont get the English commentators attitude to the game. They are saying Barca anesthetise the game. WOT? That's how football should be played. Sublime passing and technical skills. Kick & rush wont win prizes.
Those days are gone.

Chelsea have learned to be patient at his level. Soak it up and wait and take any break you get.
I think they may be in for a very pished-off Barca in the 1st 15 mins of the 2nd half. Far superior side, but... losing.
Roy Keane. What a knacker.

Evening all
Drogba is the most infuriating footballer in the world I think. When he stays on his feet and plays he can take world class defenders apart, but he spends so much time rolling around on the floor like a little girl I just want to go and kick him in the nuts!!!
Hope everyone is well.

Ha MrsPenfron. True. Besides a Munster ref would do is NO favours. ;-)
Hoi Pete darlin. Yeah. Agree. Torres may be a good call before long.
Barca's tight control, under pressure - is blowing me mind.
