No crisis at Cardiff Blues

"No crisis at Cardiff Blues says coach Justin Burnell
Coach Justin Burnell insists Cardiff Blues are not in crisis despite a recent poor run of form and players departing the region.
The Blues have lost their last five games in all competitions, including a heavy Heineken Cup quarter-final defeat against Leinster.
Twelve players, including Wales prop Gethin Jenkins and Wales scrum-half Richie Rees will leave at the end of the season but Burnell denies the region are in crisis.
"I think that's an easy word to use," said Burnell.
"Cardiff Blues are a fantastic establishment. They're a world name in rugby.
"They have been around for over a hundred years so I don't think a run of five games and some players leaving is a situation where it's a major crisis."

Good to know that Cardiff Blues are really Cardiff RFC (who says they're not a real region?) but are they really a world name? They haven't done anything of note (other than lose a game by penalties). Are they more renowned than any of the regions? Or the Scottish teams or Treviso or any one else involved in HEC.
Also Wasps have been around for 100+ years, have actually won stuff (Premiership and 2 HEC) and they may still go down the toilet.

Hmm. Some weeks ago, a government minister said "Dont panic, dont rush out and buy petrol." Which created a panic and forced people to rush out and buy petrol. Now this chap is saying there is no crisis. People need to keep their mouths shut and do their jobs.

No Mr Burnell, not a crisis - just incompetent coaching, no money and no crowds.

Re: No crisis at Cardiff Blues
To be fair to the guy he was obviously asked if there was a crisis and he said it was a strong word and then listed the 'positives'. If a reporter asked about a crisis then he get the word in regardless of the answer.
"Burrell refused to answer whether there was a crisis at the Blues"
"Burrell confirmed Blues are in crisis"
"Burrell denies Blues are in crisis"
"Burrell punched reporter in face when asked about Blues crisis"

I pick the fourth option
Look what happened to Turner when he had an "argument" with a reporter.

Eddie O'Sullivan - kill two birds with one stone.
Or else take Mike Ruddock from managing kids teams in Ireland and give him the gig.

If anyone at the top of regional rugby wales had half a brain we wouldn't be in this pickle now.

Re: No crisis at Cardiff Blues
The original BBC article has since been amended at the request of the Cardiff Blues media bloke and the BBC (Wales) obliged.
Specifically the following words have been deleted from Justin Burnell's quote thereby eliminating any reference to the rugby club;
"They have been around for over a hundred years".
