Bit of a man-crush developng on aul' Stefan.
There was so much cynicism about him before he arrived – a mercenary, in search of a quick payday, was the fear.
Instead, he’s reading up about the Troubles and subsuming himself (note that, Gerry – he’s not consuming himself. That’s just weird) in Belfast life.
He’s been excellent on the pitch, and he’s a professional rugby player who “jumps on the bus”.
Could not ask for any more. And not a Bible quotation in sight, Sin.

Yup and I was one of the cynics. Couldn't believe we'd signed a 36 year old NIQ to fill in for Payne rather than give D'arcy or even Gilroy the chance at 15.
Man was I wrong! This guy has been awesome and has brought so much to the side, not just as a player but his organisation skills and ability to just straighten the line in attack.
Clearly he's past his physical prime but reads the game so well and is so clever and fit he can still compete with the best. He put a kick into the corner against Connacht that was just breathtaking.
I wish he wasn't leaving at the end of the season .
Its been a priviledge to have Terblanche in an Ulster jersey and watch him play in the flesh!
Legend .

It does seem that his influence has extended beyond the pitch, a v good cover signing that has turned into so much more

Re: Stefan Terblanche
He really has been a revelation.
You can see his influence in the young players even while they are on the pitch and I'm sure he will leave a fantastic legacy behind him.
I think most Ulster fans would be absolutely delighted to see him added to the coaching docket.

Re: Stefan Terblanche
I was absolutely gutted when he left the Ospreys and went back home to the sharks. They are my favourite SA team, so there was a silverlining
His work rate and ethic is incredible, he has excellent skill sets and he would regularly come and assist with the District training, passing on his skills and knowledge through age grade rugby. Wish we had him at 15 instead of Fussel, infact - Dear Ulster, how would you like to swap the mighty Steph for fussell the flop................

It is easy mrsP, all you do is once you have copied the link, go to the chain link logo, paste the link in the top line and your word in the second line, and press ok.

While you were posting that I was already trying to edit it myself.
Now I'm not sure if it was you or me who fixed it, but, hey, it's sorted!
Thanks again!

Re: Stefan Terblanche
I was one of the few that was glad we got Terblanche, I thought at the time we needed an experienced full back.
I did call him over the hill but we thought we couldn't do better at such short notice.
He's proved to be a lot lot better than I was hoping.
He was for retiring before coming here, but he's playing great I wonder does he feel he may have a year left in him now?
I know we can't offer him another year, Dragons are looking for a good full back? maybe Connacht with a coaching role (although they have Duffman).
Def think he has another year left in him, but where?

Re: Stefan Terblanche
What was so impressive was when announcement I believe the majority were highly sceptical but within a few weeks his conduct on and off the pitch made him into a cult hero.
I honestly cant think of anyone who has made such an impact in such a short space of time. He only made his debut 4 months ago.

I knew you Edinburgh fans would see the sense in my suggestion.
And I knew the Glasgow fan would extract the Michael!
Talk about bandwagoners!

I will be really sad to see him go at the end of the season
He is an absolute hero and I have so much respect for him. He has been brilliant since the word go and I'm sure a lot of the boys will be sad to see him go too

Man I am glad this guy is eventually coming back home, the love and respect being heaped upon him will soon see him invited to stay forever.

If Dublin were only to give the word all right thinking Ulstermen would blocked the ports and airports to make sure he never left

Re: Stefan Terblanche
No, Stefan's next gig in the rugby old boys club organising drinking trips to Bermuda seems too good to pass up!
His family are back home in South Africa after staying in Belfast for a short time. I'm sure while he wants the rugby side of the season to go on as long as possible he'll also be looking forward to going back to Durban, seeing his wife and kids and starting the next phase of his life.
Just very happy we've got to see him up close and still playing like a guy in his mid-twenties not mid-thirties. He's been great. Now to finish a wonderful career with a flourish!
