Am I right in believing that Man Utd's Rafael is an utterly dreadful defender?

Seriously rafael is an embarrasment, inept of any footballing brain has no positional sense, cannot defend or tackle for toffee, utter digrace. He's apparently the better one out of him and Fabio......oh dear Fergie, you've really messed this one up! MNF gonna be huge

Yes he constantly costs us dear.

Today he was 'marking' the scorer of 3 of the 4 Everton goals, they scored unchallenged.

Why he was put on Jelavic, I don't know. Absolute mismatch!

The guy's a joke, he's alright going forward, but a defenders primary responsibility is to be able to defend and defend well. Rafael cannot do this.

I don't think he was put on Jelavic, it is however the fullbacks job to mark a man if he peels off to the back post and you are free.

The 2nd Jelavic goal was the worst one, Evans had told him to mark him because he was free so he could help challenge fellani and Rafael just stood gormlessly until it was too late.

I sometimes call Rafael and Fabio the chuckle brothers, they have let down United too many times. I seem to remember one of them getting send off after getting beaten then grabbing the players legs. Rookie mistakes come to mind when i think about them.

as long as he isnt playing in the derby then im happy. smalling or jones deserve to be starting RB. defensive ability is far mar important than attacking, especially against city.
