Why Not Just Fix All Draws?
Why not fix all the draws? Not by shady goings on but by ranking.
We already have seeds for the top 32 players in a slam so why not extend the seeding system for the whole 128 players in the draw? So in the 1st round the number 1 seed plays the 128 seed and the number 2 seed plays the number 127 seed etc. Similar for tournaments with smaller draws. Of course if ranking stays exactly the same we would get identical draws but it would be very rare for that to happen. It would give extra incentive to those lower ranked players to add a few more points so that they can avoid the top players. It would also keep all the conspiracy theorists quiet.
I'm not necessarily proposing this system... just asking the question.

I suppose the idea is to vary the matches so the same players aren't facing each other, slam after slam... oh wait.

What happens to qualifiers, HE?
PS: Do you want life-time ranking with that?

I think such an idea, if proposed, would generally be bad.
A bit boring.
It would lead to repeated matchups.
You could even fix your opponent by tanking in the previous tournament.

Re: Why Not Just Fix All Draws?
Not a great idea I'd say.
We already have repeated match-ups for the semis.
The prospect of similar scenarios in earlier rounds is a little bit
I think the 'shady goings on' are more professional.
