What Freaks You Out?
First topic message reminder :
Im sure im not alone having a few fears.
I hate airplanes. I just dont like the feeling of taking off. The instant the wheels leave the runway my stomach starts to turn and i feel ill.
But up in the sky im ok, looking out the window and pointing at stuff out the window. Wierd.
Wasps!
Dont get me started on these horrible insects.
Bees i can cope with because i know these will only sting you as a last resort and tend to ignore you.
But wasps? They hover about and will sting you for the fun of it because you happen to be standing still!

Trollz .........those doll things that were all the rage years ago , they came in different sizes and had bright coloured hair . Think they did a cartoon series on them .
My sister collected them and had them lined up on her windowsill , you could see them from outside staring back at you with their big eyes and smily grins . My Mum asked me to get some boxes out of her loft tonight and i found a large box full of these Trollz , made me remember how much they frewaked me out .

Certain dolls freak me out too.
Ants nests. Small ants are OK... but bull ants or fire ants - they always look so angry and will defend their turf fearlessly.

Maybe not 'freak me out' but I can't stand those lifelike animations... you know the ones? The Japanese ones are great though... just the American ones are creepy and schmultzy.

Re: What Freaks You Out?
On a few occasions (usually before a summer thunderstorm at night) I've caught something running across the concrete soffit-ceiling of my outdoor balcony... making a bee-line for the sliding doors. It's strange how you just sense these things and look up at just the right time.
A huntsman. Not a small spider either... fully grown about 3/5 the size of your hand. They do bite but can't kill you... although the bite is quite painful. Worse than a bee sting but not as bad as a wasp. Swelling occurs, then you get really itchy for a few days. They really freak me out.
WARNING: Do Not Open If You Get Freaked Out By Spiders!
They always get in so quickly and then stop somewhere on a cornice... waiting for an opportunity to get deeper inside the apartment.
I have to quickly go and get a piece of cardboard and an old take-away plastic container because they tend to move fast. This is my preferred method of capture... place container over them avoiding legs, then slip the card under. They go beserk! I never hurt them, I just chuck them off balcony and they glide down to the trees below or even take them down in the lift and deposit then in a safe spot in the 'jungle' garden outside.
One time when I got back from the kitchen with the card/container... it had gone. I spent about 10 mins carefully turning over cushions, looking under the sofa, under the coffee table (they defy gravity!), under a small pile of newspapers - but to no avail. It must have walked back outside I thought.
About 10 minutes later however, when I went to reach for my mobile which was charging on a small lamp table.... there it was; sort of camouflaged, on my phone! I think they like the warmth generated by the electricity? Talk about freaking out...

For a real arachnophobic's nightmare, just google "camel spiders", but brace yourself for the images.

BRATZ dolls - they creep the hell out of me - with their freakish oversized eyes, pouty lips, slutty make-up, skinny bodies and provocative clothes. Am I right in thinking they're aimed at pre-teen girls?
The names/spellings in their product range irritate me big time, too. 'Bratz', 'Boyz', 'Petz', 'Bratz Babyz', 'Lil Bratz', 'Lil Angelz'.. aaaargh!!
