That's a big move. The topic is all about (big) players coming into the PL.
As for Hulk, I can think of many better players to get. According to transfermarkt, it has a 61% chance of happening.

I must say this is a great idea for a thread! Will give us a great base to see how transfers pan out over next season!

If they are coming into the PL, yes. Although if you sign Rhodes he gets a place in the table as I said because he's Rhodes.

He is another young englishman parading as a Scotsman! Matt Phillips may be next I hear. Damn you Craig Levein and your team of people finding old relations of football players

French papers are reporting that the player has decided upon Utd, sky sports said he preferred Utd so it's certainly possible he's been lured by the chance to wear the number 7 shirt.
I don't know why he's stalling, just look at Ronaldo when came and Ronaldo when he left. You can get plenty of money further down the line if that's what he wants.
A young player at his level coming to the EPL, if he wants to improve it's gotta be at Manu or Arsenal.

If Aston Villa play their cards right they can get Pep Guardiola, who says he is open to seduction.

If he put his boots back on and signed for us as a player only, we might just be able to afford him.

I don't know if I want Hazzard. He seems very petulant when I hear him speak and sounds a bit of a pre-madonna. He clearly has the talent but I don't think he'd fit in at United personally. Wouldn't mind us looking elsewhere.

Never seen Hazard play, cant be bothered to look on youtube, are the big teams really that weak at scouting that they will spend 35 million plus 150k pw on a loudmouth?

I think it's gotten to the stage Man Utd are trying to get one over Citeh.

If M'villa goes to Arsenal, could that pave the way for Song to leave. Heard a few rumours of clubs after his signature, around the 20m mark the highest I've heard. Would allow Arsenal to strengthen in other areas.

Song was their 2nd best player last year.
Just have Song and M'Vila sit and break from deep.

Re: Big Premier League Signings
Completely agree, just heard rumours before hand then looked at the almost certain signing of M'villa and put two and two together. He may be looking to play a 4-2-3-1 formation, with like you said Song and M'villa holding and then perhaps Podolski LW and RVP through the middle.
Would certainly give them more protection and stop them getting caught out on the counter all the time. I would still take 20m for Song though Arsenal could bring in some needed signings in at LB and maybe LW/RW for 20m.

I can't see us selling Song. Great player and can play anywhere in midfield as well as centre back. Him and M'Vila will be a good partnership.

Re: Big Premier League Signings
Lukaku, Mikel and Hulk on the pitch is a scary thought. Can pitches take that level of mass on the pitch!
Re: Big Premier League Signings
Would have Falcao over Hulk every day of the week especially for that kind of money but if Torres is the main man next season then there 4-3-3 formation will require Hulk to play on the wing. Immense power and physical strength that will suit the english game, however I can see him becoming frustrated out wide and eventually his well known temper will get him into trouble. Basically every time i've seen him he's disappointed with a poor first touch and always shows an unwillingness to help out defensively.

Re: Big Premier League Signings
I'm loving the influx of talent supposedly on it's way this summer.
The Arsenal squad is shaping up nicely now. Have to say Podolski is a steal at £11million when you consider his international record and the prices being quoted for players like Hulk and Hazard who fill a similar role but are not yet as proven at the top level. I know he struggled a bit at Bayern but there was huge expectation on him there, while his arrival at Arsenal has been relatively low key which should help. Hopefully he wont tread on RVP's toes but he has the advantage of being comfortable anywhere in the forward diamond. Gervinho will hopefully improve, Ox will continue his development, and Walcott carry on playing well so there's options out wide. Song has improved immeasurably over the last couple of years and there is also Wilshere to come, Arteta and Ramsey. Add M'Vila and that's a seriously strong CM group. How do Arsenal fans think you'll play? I guess the fluidity of the systems always employed are an advantage with a lot of these types of players and I suppose it'll be a constant Man U style rotation of the squad. But who would be the best 11?
As a relative neutral I'm really enjoying how a lot of the top sides are looking strong. Hopefully Spurs can keep hold of their stars, Chelsea can bring in some new ones and Newcastle continue to pull gems from obscurity. You never know, Liverpool's expensive flops could start playing well under new management then there'd be 7 seriously good teams.

Schezney (Not a clue how to spell this)
Sagna-Vermaelen-Mertesacker-Gibbs
---------------Song-M'Vila
Walcott----Wilshere/Arteta---Podolski

I'm guessing.

Hard to say, he's young enough to shake it off hopefully, might be midseason before he recovers past form though.
I'd expect Arsenal to look hard at finding a better CB partner for Vermaelen and Gibbs will probably last all of half an hour.

How many games did Gibbs play last season?
Guess Arsenal could go:
-----M'Vila-Arteta-----
Ox----Wilshire----Pod
---------RVP---------
Personally I think thats got a better look to it and Arteta said this season he prefers being slightly further back.

Song and M'Vila are very very similar players. Don't think Arsene will be looking at playing both unless he goes with:
-----Song--M'Vila-----
--------Arteta--------
Ox----------------Pod
---------RVP---------
Allowing Arteta to roam and Ox/Pod to bomb forward as much as they want.

Song was their best midfielder last year and Arsenals defense is shaky enough as if.
I imagine both will sit and break from deep.

But in his interview after the final game of the season against WBA, he hardly said he was going to say. He left the door open and if I was a Arsenal fan I would be worried. Other clubs like Man City and Barca could offer him more money and more trophies. Because at the end of the day he is what 28? 29? and he only has a FA Cup winners medal to show for his talents. He will want to start winning things sooner rather than later and he has more chance of doing that at a City or Barca rather than Arsenal. Just my view on the situation
