Not PL, but Alba agreed a deal with Barca, now they have to agree a fee with Valencia.

I heard Man Utd may try to make a last ditch bid to sign him. I don't know where Barca are getting the money; I heard their finances are amongst the worst in football.

54% debt for Barca. Sad that they can get away with it.

Eh, where as banks would reign in clubs' spending over here, the big 2 get more leeway.

Re: Big Premier League Signings
This is what makes even more annoying as a Man Utd fan, that my club actually went about business in the correct manner, they steadily increased their global appeal and worked hard to get where they are (only for then a family from the States to use borrowed cash to buy them) whilst others get sugar daddies or are bankrolled.

Another theoretical argument rather than a genuine argument. ManU being bankrolled by SKY tv money and UEFA CL money is not any better than clubs being taking over by ambitious people.whilst others get sugar daddies or are bankrolled.

Re: Big Premier League Signings
There is a massive difference between prem clubs spending and the two big spainish sides- You cant have a pop at a sugar dady for spending his own money ,howeveer....
Its actually us that bank rolls barca and madrid. the banks that bank roll are govenment owend these days which are being propped up by us net european contributers.
basically the two big spainish clubs are never pushed to pay back Long term loans and can get funding whenever they want.

Hardly, the difference between the top and the bottom of the Premier League in receiving cash is 20m, far less than the likes of La Liga split.
And you're deeming it unjust to give cash to those that have managed to do well in order to participate in the Champions League?

I know it's not signings but I'm suprised that Kalou and Bosingwa have been released by Chelsea.
Though the same list says Scholes has been released by Man U, but I'd read he'd been offered another seasons contract.

It's a signing in a way... Rumours are that Pogba decided against a move to Juventus and is staying with Utd although Fergie has said if he matures he will allow him to go out on loan for a season.

Guy wants to get paid ultimately.
If I was Norwich, cashing in on a player with 1 good PL year and 30+ would be tempting.

Re: Big Premier League Signings
Holt's agent has said that
1. It is about money
2. He wanted his contract dealt with before the out of contract ones.
Also said this and I quote, ""A deal was almost in place, we wanted it sorted before Adam's testimonial... David said he couldn't do it"
I'm sorry I love Holt he will always be a legend here, but I am starting to lose respect for him. The club have always stated this, and I quote again,
"The club have clearly said in the past, when out of contract players have been dealt with, everyone else will be spoken to"
Seems to me he is being very selfish and if he is like that then he can go

Spurs are a mess at CB. Hopefully they put that right, and they can actually make a consistent challenge for the Top 2.

They still need a top centre forward. City would probably let Adebayor walk for free, but I'm still not convinced by him.

Especially as your manager looks set to leave, contracts shouldn't really be dealt with until there's a new manager.

Well they have been. I'm disappointed in Holt, I would have thought he would have shown a bit more respect and humility, especially towards the fans who love him so much. I dunno how to feel!

It might just end up as a Rooney case where he signs a new contract and it's all forgotten about and you start loving him again. At least you have to hope that is what is going to happen.

I will always love him Crimey! He is a god round these parts! I hope you are right, as I can't see a great market for him. He won't get a better place and situation to play football than here, just depends if he is really influenced that much by money that he is prepared to go somewhere like Sunderland or Everton and not play week in week out for the rest of his career. Or he can stay here, play every week and be seen as a superhero like he already is.

He wasn't always first choice at Norwich though. He struggled to get into the side for a long time at the beginning of the season.

I know Crimey, I was there
But he is firmly established now, after the second half of the season where he was amazing and Morison fell off a bit. Plus when we changed back to the diamond midfield and two up front that suited him more, where as one up front suited Morison more.
