They've been talking about Ireland... or NI's? Olympic medal situation and future potential. They're so far behind the times (unlike you & Rava of course). They overate the boxing thing too and are so blind to the greater reality of all those countries who are also very good at boxing but win all of the medals every time. It's incredibly naive and ignorant. You need to pull them into line.

I am actually really knowledgable about boxing and its history but i really dont get involved, same reason i dont get involved much on the boxing board as its littered with small minded people who become abusive at the drop of a hat.

It's only 1 Gold in Barcelona... a few silvers (4) and bronze (7). Maybe a couple more now.

They way they talk themselves up you'd think they'd won dozens!

Ireland is actually better at Athletics and Swimming.

Boxing is a favourite in Ireland, pretty much like swimming is (or used to be) to you Aussies. All Irish expect so much from the boxers but in reality they are not as great as certain fans make them out to be, accomplished but not world beaters.

I'd like to see the split for GB - what proportion are from NI. Do you know?
'Olympic Dave' has clung to GB for the last few days - Clayton's Glory.
(but maybe he has English connections possibly... in which case fair enough)
