Re: The Reaction Game
Instant hot water can be very painful. Here, it takes a few seconds for it to come through the pipes so I can stick my hand under 'hot water' for about 0.5-2 seconds on cold winter mornings and not feel like it's boiling my hands.

Bovril... I think I had it once about 35 years ago. It's like a meaty, soupy hot drink, yeah?

Both of those are great. I also like to have a jug of lemon/lime cordial in the fridge if I'm not drinking beer and watching the cricket.

Re: The Reaction Game
I have a serious sweet tooth! I know what you mean though, it has to be proper cold before I'll drink it, seems to counteract some of the sweetness.

Love cranberry too. We had this really sweet stuff at a middle eastern restaurant last night. Many different fruits... there was enough vitamin C in there for sure!

OK, you too mate. Have a good one. Early night for me... went out to a factory in St Marys (60km each way), had lunch with the boss and then came home and rang Japan and sent list of problems, Need to get engineers out here asap. Brain is knackered!

Re: The Reaction Game
oh feck... just got off the phone to Tokyo and Osaka. Jayzuz, talk about a communication 'issue'!
Mechanical and electrical engineers, Billy. The manufacturer have all the expertise - don't want to risk some local guy fiddling around with it. It's a massive Nomura Floor Borer... the customer/owners have been flogging it for about 12 years and it has about 10 issues (slightly off some of its axes) which need to get sorted quickly because the operator is starting to lose confidence and using manual override/ad-libbing and there is little tolerance for any errors in the components they are making.
How are you anyway? I hope all is fine.

Australians mate. In western Sydney. The Japanese will arrive as usual and when they see the indian guy run the machine. It's Fanuc control CNC. Also parts of the macros have been deleted or something. Maybe needs a full upgrade.
Glad to hear you're well. Are you back at work full time or part time?

Re: The Reaction Game
Dont know too much about Fanuc guidence systems but i think that they are a sort of WINCC programe. You should be able to debug the error messages for a clear idea what the issues with it are. I think that with machines like your borer, once they go slightly off balance the your fecked...

Re: The Reaction Game
They have the instruments to do the re-alignment of the spindle/quill and we think it's best that they also check the bed (they can chock it up will levelling blocks and make sure it's perfectly flat) and tweak the table as well. Takes between a week or two and then they run the tests. At the same time another guy will check the program, debug, reconfigure and make sure it's all working precisely again. They'll also clean the filters, check the oil and give owner's a certificate to say all's well.

See what I can do. I have all the hard copies of the Operating system here but we will see what they can offer. Early days yet... they're just going through the list of problems. Scratching their heads and making that hissing sound like dragging back on a ciggie.

Re: The Reaction Game
You'd know better than me but power comes in at 230-240 volts domestically but 415V for industrial. Is it then boosted up by a transformer to power the motor?

Has he? That's a little sad. Nice man. I hope this isn't the start of some string of retirements like we had.
(truly... I was thinking about England's morale this morning after the ODI. A few of them looked shattered in the field)

Re: The Reaction Game
I had expected hime to step down as captain but not to retire from all forms of cricket. That was a huge shock.
There is also no suitable replacement as yet except for young Root.
