Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
First topic message reminder :
I would go with the 23 that will take the field in the HC final the following week. (below)
Perhaps swap a few guys around. But we want to A/Win and B/Get the systems in place for the following week.
If we do get a lead going then think about getting people off for the following week. But it is a knockout game against a side that have beaten us in the RDS this year. So I am not expecting anything but a tough game from Glasgow. They have no other distractions and will be well focused on the job.
Resting players? Madness at this point in the season (unless they are injured) If we rest players for this, everyone will get a rest in the Pro12 final when we watch Glasgow travel to the Liberty.
Rule 1 in a knockout game. Win.
Rule 2. There is no rule 2.

Two heart in mouth almost intercepts there, could have been 7 for either team.

Glasgow did exceptionally well not to concede a try - especially a man down. Still its been all Leinster, you feel the first score in the 2nd half is going to be crucial.

Slow passing in that move, Leinster defence looks a bit iffy compared with Glasgow's

Reddan showing exactly why Kidney doesn't trust him so far.
Is it too difficult to ask for one Irish scrumhalf who doesn't
have major flaws.

Not a great 1st half from Leinster. Missed the first 20 min though.
Glasgow seem to really be disrupting them with their excellent defence and breakdown work.
Poor old D'arcy took a fair smack from Thorns knee....

How the hell did leinster get an Irish ref for a home game? Against a non irish team, Clancy seems to have made his mind up already on who he wants to win.
Great defense from Glasgow thou, also two near intercepts show Glasgow are reading this daft loop around pass leinster do all the time.

You can watch it on the S4C site. Not sure if you can get the English commentary on line, but the game will be streamed as they are broadcasting it live on tv. www.s4c.co.uk there is an English button to display the web site in english.
Of course if you have Sky you can get S4C then hit the red button for English commentary. Not sure the Sky channel number outside Wales though, you'll have to search for that.

Stringer has more flaws than most, besides the speed of his pass, he has nothing anymore.
His pass is no longer accurate enough, he isn't big enough and his kicking is shocking. I'm
still hopeful that murray can come through but he needs to get better coaching. I also had
big hope for Ian Porter but he hasnt really progressed.

Judging by this match so far, I fear Glasgow at home more than Leinster away!
Scott Johnson gets his fizzog on the telly. Doesn't seem fussed on the O's winning.

I take it you were happy with Rolland yesterday seeing as you only seem to post when berating a referee. Clancy hasn't been too great, it was a yellow though.

Val, you're right it was a bit tongue in cheek, I think Strings is the best option though, as a SH you're primary job is to deliver good ball to the out half, he does that.

I don't think he really does that anymore, he isn't consistently accurate anymore and at hec or international level, he just gets blown away because of the size difference. In some ways its the same problem with Rog, look at yesterday his tackling and attemps at counterrucking were pathetic, and look at what Sexton is doing tonight. Unfortunately rugby is no longer a place for smaller players.

Re: Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
I hope this doesn't go to a silly penalty kicking contest at FT. Glasgow very good in attack, but it's matched by a solid Leinster defense. Glasgow giving away too many penalties tho.

Re: Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
Rolland was rubbish yesterday. He saw what he wanted to, and gave Munster so much learway it was embarrasing to call him a top ref.
Ospreys played brilliantly, and that was against 16 men.
I don't understand when we have 4 nations in this tournament, why we can't have inderpendant refs when it gets to the semis and the final.
Nigel Owens shoukd be ref'ing this, and we could have got a Scottish ref yesterday.
Clancy has already decided who's going to win this....

What do you think he did wrong Biggles? I thought he did well, was consistent at the breakdown, let one or two things go for both sides but that's going to happen. The one thing I think he should have done was give O'Donnell a yellow but I thought he was alright besides that.
You're correct on the need for independent refs, Owens is probably being rested for the HC.

Leinster should have a yellow not on feet, Glasgow are getting on top. Ulster must be enjoying this game with all the injuries for the final

Owens reffed Llanelli v Aberavon today. Play off semi final in the Welsh prem. Not sure why mind as James JOnes was supposed to be doing it.
Mind you, it was a blinder of a game, and he controlled it very well.
Healy off injured. Leinster best be praying it's nowt serious!

Bitter or not, have to agree, Irish refs for playoff games, when Irish teams play, somewhat stinks of conspiracy :-)

But given that the Welsh have demanded no Scottish refs in the Rabo for a good 6 years now, what is the alternative, Welsh refs officiating Welsh teams? Which Ulster had against the Ospreys earlier this season, would that be any different?

Some of these injuries are just guys getting rested or preserved. I doubt all them are serious most of these lads are probably not in danger of missing the final.
I agree with you Biggles, Irish refs shouldn't be in charge. If Glasgow had slotted those two penalties I think they could have won this game, now I don't know.
