Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
First topic message reminder :
I would go with the 23 that will take the field in the HC final the following week. (below)
Perhaps swap a few guys around. But we want to A/Win and B/Get the systems in place for the following week.
If we do get a lead going then think about getting people off for the following week. But it is a knockout game against a side that have beaten us in the RDS this year. So I am not expecting anything but a tough game from Glasgow. They have no other distractions and will be well focused on the job.
Resting players? Madness at this point in the season (unless they are injured) If we rest players for this, everyone will get a rest in the Pro12 final when we watch Glasgow travel to the Liberty.
Rule 1 in a knockout game. Win.
Rule 2. There is no rule 2.

Is there a mandatory amount of time out after a concussion?
Will Darcy be ruled out of the Heineken cup because of it?

If he's concussed he should be out for 3 weeks.
As there's a final next week though, I've no doubt they'll say twas just "a slight knock to the head and he was taken of as precaution"

Joe reckons he'll be fit, its only a bad cut.
Sounds like O'Malley is the only concern along with O'Driscoll.

If he is concussed he will be assessed and go through the GRTP protocol.
If he remains symptom free at each stage he could be back in a week.

Current NWQ for next season that we have are Timani and Manu if he stays. Iongi and Gilbert as squad players. I think that number will go up if we recruit as planned in the front and 2nd row.

OK guys we get it, Wales have so much strength in depth not only do they not need foreign players they are keeping the French clubs afloat with their surplus!
Ireland are the source of all that is wrong with rugby, poaching all poor SA and NZs props to deprive the rest of Europe their rightful place in the HEC final.

Re: Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
what does it matter if they weren't born in Wales? If they've grown up here (and nearly all have from a very, very young age) and/or have Welsh parents, they are Welsh.
My brother and sister were born in London, before my parents moved back to Wales when they were 1 and 2. That doesn't make them any less Welsh at all then say me who was born here.
I always find it baffling when people roll that out as an argument. If they'd only lived here for 3 years then you might have a point

Mind games. O'Driscoll has played through some ridiculous injuries in his career. 50/50 for him is when his leg is hanging off and we'd have heard about that! He'll be on that pitch for sure.

Did you watch the game? Cause if you did you'll see that 21st has a point, as I said in an earlier post, Clancey really is clueless, and let Leinster treat the ruck like a swimming pool.
He is a factor in the loss (at times it felt like 16 V 15/14), but at the end of the day though, poor goal-kicking, a few dodgy throws at the lineout and leaving things a bit too late were what caused Glasgow to lose today.
Re: Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
Looks like standards have been changed conveniently. It used to be that a three-year residency made you a foreigner. Now apparently it's anyone born outside the country they're playing for
If we're going that far:
England - Alex Corbisiero (New York, USA)
- Dylan Hartley (Rotorua, NZ)
- Matt Stevens (Durban, SA)
- Mouritz Botha (Vryheid, SA)
- Thomas Waldrom (Lower Hutt, NZ)
- Lee Dickson (Verden, Germany)
- Charlie Sharples (Hong Kong)
- Shontayne Hape (Auckland, NZ)
- Manusamoa Tuilagi (Fogapoa, Samoa)
- Brad Barritt (Durban, SA)
- Delon Armitage (San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago)
Ireland - Tom Court (Brisbane, Australia)
- Mike McCarthy (London, England)
- Jamie Heaslip (Tiberias, Israel)
- Ronan O'Gara (San Diego, USA)
Scotland - Jim Hamilton (Swindon, England)
- John Barclay (Hong Kong)
- David Denton (Zimbabwe)
- Dan Parks (Hornsby, Australia)
- Ruaridh Jackson (Northampton, England)
- Graeme Morrison (Hong Kong)
- Max Evans (Torquay, England)
Wales - Luke Charteris (Camborne, Cornwall)
- Ian Evans (Johannesburg, SA)
- Dan Lydiate (Salford, England)
-Toby Faletau (Tofua, Tonga)
- George North (King's Lynn, England)
- Jon Davies (Solihull, England)

Thank goodness that Leinster got George (Georgieboy) Clancy appointed to this match.
He was simply fantastic tonight. Ruled the match with an iron rod and gave neither side a break. He was as near invisible as you could get from a top-class international referee - you can see why he was picked to ref the opening match of the world cup.

Really enjoyed that game, despite the result. Nacewa really is a genius with ball in hand, and it's a real credit to the Glasgow defence that they held off Leinster for so long.
Leinster are the best team in Europe, and Glasgow ran them within 4 points at home. A fine effort, and they made it a physical and bruising contest.
Great advert for the Rabo. Leinster vs Ospreys is going to be really interesting.

Happy with the result,we won without playing very well and more importantly we gave nothing away,Ulster won't have learned much from that game.
I though bringing Madigan on for D'Arcy was a bit odd,Conway on to the wing and McFadden to 12 would have made more sense to me but maybe because it was so early Schmidt didn't feel Conway would have the match fitness to last.

Sure, if you ignore the 6 England internationals in tigers starting line up (not including flood) and the 6 in sarries starting line up. That was just the internationals. Hardly all foreign.

Re: Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
I'm not normally one for bashing the Ref, 9 times out of 10 the ref has only a small part to play in the game and the losing team are architects of their own demise.
Not the case on Saturday. Clancy was in a word awful, and to be honest I wouldn't have him anywhere near a professional game ever again.
He pinged Glasgow for the smallest infringement and told Leo Cullen 5 times to get his hands of the ball at that final scrum, had a penalty been awarded and Glasgow got a quick tap and go they could have had time for the restart and scored another try. Granted we'll never know, but how can a player be warned 5 times to get their hands off the ball, ignore the referee and win a scrum for their team?
A disgrace frankly.

Clancy has been awful all season.
He let Martyn Williams ref a game in Cardiff against us (Ulster) and we are an Irish team !! (not that is any consolation to Glasgow fans).

Certainly one of the most obscene decisions I have ever witnessed in a proffesional game :
Hands off Blue,
Hands away Blue!
Touches Cullen on the Shoulder "LEAVE IT"
Hands Off!
Scrum down Blue ball.....

Re: Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
The question is,
Why was he telling Cullen to get his hands off a ball that wasn't on the ground? Surely it was a maul and Cullen was completely within his rights to go for the ball, no?
I have no idea why he was telling him to leave it.

I don't think Clancy knew what he was doing either. If it was a maul it was the strangest Maul I have ever seen, with almost no players on their feet.
I know only one thing for sure MrsP, Clancy told Cullen to leave it alone, he (Cullen) didn't and won Leinster a scrum.

I don't actually think he was all that bad* the rest of the game but that one was just bizarre!

Re: Pro12 Semi Number 2 Leinster v Glasgow
What about that move where Leinster kicked forward and a fortuitous bounce came up to Kearney (I think). He was tackled well by Hogg, who then stood up without releasing the tackler and was on the wrong side of the ruck. He slowed the ball down and by the time we could use it the entire Warriors line was about 2 foot offside, crossfeild kick goes into Conway who came out of nowhere (he looked onside to me), and he crosses for the try. Disallowed. Very odd. Should have been a yellow for Hogg for slowing down the ball in that position.

Referee's miss things like that all the time though Mick, not saying it's ok or it's a good thing.
What sets the Cullen thing apart is Clancy warned him 3 times and then despite Cullen ignoring the warnings he awarded Leinster a Penalty.
