For me: nothing.
But: does anybody there think of anything different?

It obviously proves that Azarenka is the GOAT and the likes of Williamses would win nothing in this unbearably competitive era.
At least that seems to be the thinking.

What does it say about her ?
Well, for me, it says that she performed well enough and consistently enough to win enough tournaments and enough points to get herself to to the Number One ranking. But not (yet) a Slam.
What does it say about the era she plays in ?
Well, for me, it says that .......
Oh dear. I get fed up with all the era talk in the men's. Really can't be bothered getting started on the women's game too

What is this WTA and "women's game" of which you speak?

I think you may have a point here, probably the turnover at the top of the ranking these years is the most obvious evidence of a most impressive level of competition in the WTA. I therefore (regretfully) shell admit it's got to be because a very strong era is going on in the WTA as well.

Convergent conditions allow space for new #1s who dont really excel (or need to excel) at any major but can do well all year round and get the top ranking through being at the business end most of the time.
Ranking vs winning majors in Women's tennis is not really linked anymore.
So for Caroline, kind of Woz not Woz.

The fact remains: Wozniacky, who has been the most successful WTA player of the last few years outside the Salms, is struggling to get her maiden slam. Does it mean she is playing in a very strong tennis era? (as someone apparently would suggest) .
