But with the likelihood he'll be a Man City player next season, it would be a gamble worth taking.

£24m, but for a player who was rated highly on the Furious League and will be playing for a top 2 team next year... seems reasonable to me.

I'd be tempted to buy Tevez too, he's dropped in value to around £26m. Just not sure I could use him in my side!

Daniel Sturridge

And one of Grant Holt or Andy Carroll, I genuinely can't decide.

If I were Sainty, i'd play the front four as;

Di Maria - Kagawa - Gaitan
Llorente

That is a decent frontline, although perhaps Llorente needs a LW who is more inclined to stay wide and put crosses into the box, rather than Gaitan, who has a tendancy to drift in. It would also need two solid midfielders behind as you aint going to get much defensive help from the 3 AMs.

I've said elsewhere, Hazard to City, Adam Johnson moves on. To where though, that is the question. Arsenal would be a good fit.

Morning

I don't think we need 8 defenders I would take one out and put in another striker. I'd also put Carrick into the squad.

In the same way I wouldn't take 3 goalkeepers, 2 keepers for a 4 week Tournament should be plenty, but it's about them being there in case of injury.

Carrick ahead of Barry if he was consistent enough, and Carrick just isn't consistent enough to rely on.

Liverpool I bet, they love an English player and he would frankly be an improvement on the wingers they have. Plus Maxi is leaving.

Mmm. Not sure where the selfish tag comes from. I can see the worry about playing with Rooney when Rooney likes to drop deep, but if Kagawa was playing AM, I don't think Rooney would need to play as deep.

Kagawa achieved 14 assists and 17 goals this season.

Now compare that to other AMs

Kroos, 7 goals, 18 assists
Ozil, 7 goals, 29 assists
Silva, 9 goals, 21 assists
Eriksen, 8 goals, 20 assists

For me Utd need an attacking midfielder more in that role rather than one than thinks of the glory for themselves. Also I really don't think getting both him and Lewandowski will work, Kagawa has gone on record of calling the striker 'selfish' ironically.

Yes and Yes. feel free to check my budgets.

Hero, Kagawa has 12 assist less then the highest on your list but has double the goals.
Is Bale selfish? Dempsey?
Bale, 9 goals, 10 assists
Dempsey, 17 goals, 6 assists???

David Silva, 6 goals, 15 assist.
Mata, 6 goals, 13 assists

I dont see how you can call a player who as an attacking midfield player selfish when he contributes on both fronts.

Kagawa has gone on record of calling the striker 'selfish' ironically.
Please produce this "record"

To be fair, you could create hundreds of chances and only the chances taken would show up as assists. Hence Ozil looks good, because Ronaldo, Benzema and Higuain scored nearly 100 between them!

“Lewandowski’s game is purely focused on trying to score himself, rather than playing together with his team-mates,” Kagawa told Nikkei.

“He never looks around him for players who are in a better position than him. That’s why I hardly get the ball from him.

“There’s nothing you can do about that, though. That’s simply the type of player he is.

“He has scored 20 times, and I have 13 goals to my name. The only difference is that he doesn’t cooperate with other team members.

“I am convinced that he would score more goals if he made better use of me on the pitch.”

I could flip the statistics and say "but would they have scored 100 between themselves without Ozil laying it on a plate?"

It's the problem with statistics...!

But the only thing I'll point everyone in the league to is who supplied the ball for Ronaldo to score the winner at Camp Nou? My man Ozil!

It wasn't that sort of question, i'm just surprised you haven't cleaned up when the likes of Phil Jones, David Luiz, Theo Walcott, Andy Carroll, (and until yesterday, Leighton Baines) are available in TP's. Unless you're spending it all on a £35M player to make sure no-one else gets him!

I'd agree that this year Kagawa has outperformed Gotze, the injury to Gotze certainly didn't help and it allowed Kagawa an extended run in the side where he obviously played a pivotal role. Just for me he's not a great team player and I worry with Utd being so much about the team that he may be a square peg for a round hole.

I hope I'm proved wrong, I hope that if Fergie buys him that he is the contributor more and he and Rooney can work together and it allows Rooney to stay further forward, I just can see him getting Rooney increasingly frustrated.

In fairness Kagawa was central to Dortmund before he got injured at the end of last season. Im not sure Gotze getting injured had anything to do with Kagawa getting back into the team.

Klopp loves Kagawa and put him straight back in at the start of this season when Gotze was still fit.

It can't be argued that the Dortmund team is built with Kagawa central to everything they do. I'd be interested to see stats of Kagawa's involvement in other assists where he didn't play the final ball - I bet you'd see a large number of other players assists, were "assisted" by Kagawa.

I just don't see where the selfish tag comes from, because that is the last thing I would call him. I don't see him always taking on players when he should pass, or shooting when he has a teammate in a better position. IMO he is quite a strong team player.

He does get forward and into the box a lot (he is no box to box player, that is for sure) and gets onto the end of things coming in. But that isn't selfish is it?

Found this on Google. Quite a good precis I think.

The writer also agrees with Hero about how he would work with Rooney, which is a fair comment.

Come as you are, as Kurt Cobain would say

Just make sure you bring a bottle, Cherries spent all our budget on a Brazilian themed cup final.
