I said Hartley should be starting hooker for the Lions and I stand by it.
I think I said Hartley was a captaincy contender, which he is. He captains his club well.
He's a fine player and should definitely tour. I know Gatland isn't a huge fan of his so I would be a little surprised to see him start the first test (and shocked if I saw him lead them out), but if I were in charge it would be between him and Best to start, with Rees' name down to tour as well (with his captaincy experience Rees would make a fantastic captain in any tour games he played in).
