The Dew Drop Inn Virtual HEC Final Rugby Pub, Twickenham
First topic message reminder :
Chin chin and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has arrived in London this week for the Heineken Cup final so has stocked up on cucumber sandwiches ( - KRD ) and Pimms.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Ruan Pienaar, Stephen Ferris, Jonathon Sexton, Rob Kearney and Jonny Wilkinson (the five nominees for the ERC Player of the Year award), Nigel Owens the HEC final referee or Adam Powell (captain of Llanelli RFC who are playing Ponty in the Welsh club final on Friday). The CCTV snaps of Prop_Lyd and the other Cardiff Saracens players on tour in Croatia are fair game though.

Six different teams represented already (assuming Hoog hasn't changed - it's hard to keep up with him )
In that case I have two spare, but I'll reserve them for the Welsh contingent.

My bro used to get me to play the bass line while he practiced the Lead!
Not the most exciting musical challenge.
I suppose it gets better as you do.

Evening folks ..... another Ryanair flight survived....
Fantastic weekend. Disappointing result and the last 10 minutes were painful viewing but honestly I've never been so proud to be an Ulster supporter. I believe more than ever that we are building something special and there will be better days ahead.
Well done Leinster, enjoy another trophy it's well deserved. They've raised the bar out of sight in European club rugby. Sensational rugby team.
Thanks for the invite on Saturday, we had a brilliant time and it was a pleasure to meet with so many of the pub regs. Unfortunately the day was a bit of a blur so didn't get time to chat to everyone as much as would have liked but everyone I did manage speak to, and I won't name names, far surpassed my lofty expectations....so thanks everyone I hope we meet again sometime .
SUFTUM!

Thanks Rava, sure tomorrow will be fine, not something I'm too concerned about
I made it home fine though alcohol + fresh air + standing up for too long made negotiating my way back to Euston an interesting experience! I took Kiwi's sage advice and went back via Waterloo and it was fine.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, another fine day here on the docks!
Hughie, just read back - I used to play bass. I found it easy enough to listen to songs and pick up the basslines. Never played an acoustic, though. A few of my favourite basslines: 'Midnight Train to Georgia' by Gladys Knight and the Pips, 'I'll Never Fall in Love' by Bobby Gentry and 'Mama Mia' by Abba (yes, really).
Also, I bought a new laptop yesterday. One evening's use and it's still going strong!

'Superstition' is a good call, Mick. Paul McCartney's basslines are usually great, too. 'Something', 'Taxman', 'Old Brown Shoe', there are plenty. Brian Wilson wrote a good bassline, too.
