Godman signs for London Scottish
Think this could be a good move for them. Still only 29 and if he can rediscover his best form he should be a hit.
Favourite WCP moment this year his DG against RM 92 - thanks Phil.

I hope they know they've got a world class player on their hands!
Seriously, hope he is used to nurture the young talent that is Dan Mugfird along - top try scorer and points scorer and a serious prospect at flyhalf

I'm sure his experience will be very useful for any young 10s at LS and probably a big part in his signing. Can't have come particularly cheap though, didn't think Championship sides went in for that sort of signing. Is there more money in this league than I thought?
On the plus side will stop me turning up to Murrayfield on a Friday night and spending part of the game hiding my eyes or screaming Good Godman!

Agree that this is a good move all round. Best of luck Phil. Good servant to Edinburgh rugby.

If I were a London Scottish fan, I'd be petrified. Saying that, Gordon Ross seems to be doing an alright job at London Welsh.

I think this will be a fantastic signing for LS. Before his injury he was playing very well and looking like he could do a decent job for Scotland (missed kick against SA aside). He's only 29 and plenty time to rediscover his form.
Probably taken a massive pay cut to go down there - he'd be on an international salary up here.
I'm surprised he couldn't find a bigger club - the RM link must have been pure speculation!

The Championship is all pro and whilst there is money there it is no way comparible to the AP wages. I'd imagine his wages have gone down by at least 50% if not more. How long is his deal? Could be that he wants to showcase his talents in the Championship in order to try and gain a better contract in the AP the year after.

Confirmation that Jim Thompson, Bill McLaren's grandson, former Edinburgh fullback, will join London Scottish for next season: http://www.scottishrugby.org/content/view/2921/2/
(Also that Mike Blair will be playing for ProD2 club Brive)
Great signing for Scottish imo - Jim will hook up with WCP

That's a great signing by London Scottish. I really like the idea of them mopping up those who perhaps just fall short at Edinburgh and Glasgow. Fergus Thompson would be another decent signing in my view, and maybe Kyle Traynor as well.
Can't help but think Mike Blair would have hoped for a slightly better club than Brive. I don't know what the money looks like but to me that's a step down from Edinburgh, at a time you'd think he'd want to be playing HC rugby as much as possible.

+1 Seems like a crazy move for him but from what I gather he wanted to try something differant. Can't really say he will be in Andy Robinson's mind come selection time when he isn't playing top flight Rugby.
