Chris Jericho suspended

Chris Jericho has been suspended indefinitely due to an irresponsible act of denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24. WWE has apologized to the citizens and the government of Brazil for this incident.

It looks fake, but I'm not sure whether it is or not. Seems odd for it to be fake as I can't think of any story it can tie into.

if it is a storyline they could tie it with him leaving?

Apparently he's not actually going to be leaving, he's going to off for a weeks here and there but I think the most he'll be gone for is a month is the foreseeable future from August to September.

I don't think his first time off is that soon, so it seems odd to suspend him now.

Jericho obviously didnt know it was an offensive act. I certainly didnt. He was clearly just trying to be a heel and get the crowd against him but its backfired badly! Innocent mistake if you ask me.

WWE have to be seen to have done the right thing by suspending him.

I remember a certain act one John "Bradshaw" Layfield did in Germany at a house show. Can anyone remember the punishment he got for that?

He got naff all of a punishment if I remember rightly.

Anyone know what Jericho actually did to the flag? Did he hump it? Wipe his arse with it? Burn it?

He will probably be suspended till WWE get out of the country.

Apparently Punk was waving it around, Jericho grabbed and just kicked it out of the ring. Thats it :/

He threw it to the floor and stamped on it. It's a crime in Brazil to disrespect the flag and is punishable by jail.

He was grabbed by police and nearly arrested and WWE rushed him on the first flight and sent him to Ecuador.

Guessing Fozzy aren't going to be touring Brazil anytime soon?

Its good to know that with Brazil hosting the World Cup and Olympics in the next few years that they have a real strong sense of civil liberties

Just as well Jericho didn't push a granny in the front row or rip up a fan's sign, those offences are punishable by death in Brazil.

Ahh you know what the Latin countries are like, very patriotic people and very sensitive people as well. WWE done the right thing to suspend him for public image purposes but still what an overreaction from the crowd, loosen up he didn't sh*t on it did he?

If he had shat on it, they would have thought it was art! 2 girls one cup was filmed in brazil and called art, everywhere else in the world people thought it was just plain sick!!

Where does this leave the new Jericho / Orton feud which seems to be being bult up?

If he is suspended, Orton is screwed for No Way Out.

The key word here is "indefinitely". There's no way the E would jeopardise a feud with potential to make a lot of money. For all we know, Jericho could be back in the locker room already, having served a symbolic 1 day suspension. Suppose we'll find out Monday night...

In that case, ignore my point.

I suppose there could be a backstage conflict in a reasonably unlit area where Orton takes out Jericho... They could get someone with a passable resemblance to Jericho to play him in it or just say that there was an "incident". I would guess Orton would get involved in the WHC match now then

Who knows, in this modern WWE, live on Raw Michael Cole will introduce footage of Jericho doing what he did and say the WWE have suspended him for 30 days and be completely honest with it!
