The Dew Drop Inn ERC 2012 Commemorative Pub, Dublin
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The Pub has followed the victorious Leinster team home after last week's Heineken Cup final for a liver-busting celebration.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of the late Simon "Human Windmill" Pitney or those of all the HEC and Amlin Cup finalists.

I had the same experience at a wedding in NZ. Poisoned by gin... actually mixing too many drinks but I only can remember the taste of the gin afterwards. I fell into some rose bushes (my aunt's) whilst and got some nasty scratches.littleswannygirl wrote:The smell of gin makes me . Bad memories of a very heavy night out when I was 19

Gin poisoning really is something else isn't it
We'd already been out and consumed copious quantities of Newcastle Brown Ale and then gone back to a friend's house. The only thing he had in was gin, which I didn't fancy drinking neat. The only mixer we could find was blackcurrant... I have never felt so ill! And I haven't drunk the stuff since!
Gin that is, not blackcurrant!! I forgave the blackcurrant.

It's ouzo for me. And retsina. Unforgettable time on a Greek island. I forgot what happened after that binge. But not the taste or losing a day of my life.
And tequila. Cant even smell the stuff now or I wretch. That happened in the Dam on Queens Day way back. Uugh.
Pints and whiskey for me. Maybe a drop of vodka. Nice wine. Champers... Armagnac. Never tire of that lot.

Sambucca. Its not my finest hour - there were WAY too many witnesses.
Like all good stories it involves money, women and drink.

I haven't been able to face dark rum since my 21st. Shudder.
I went out with a girl for a year or two who felt the same way about bourbon. So coming back from the bar holding a rum & coke and a bourbon and coke generally involved a sniff of the glass and a grimace before handing the correct one over.
Stag, Glas & Lucky, any chance you could have a quick gander at the summer tours preview thread in the writers' section?

Howya Gibbo Ideal evenings for BBQs, although it's blowing a gale here, so you'd have to watch where you put it. I'm sure it'll be a lovely evening for you guys though. London's pretty sheltered from the elements isn't it?
Good side put out by Leinster. I'd love it for the O's to conquer them, but even if they don't, I'll still be proud of them. Getting to the final and losing to the European champs is nothing to be ashamed of given the poo year the O's have had.

Evening all. Hello new pub.
Today I had one of the best days of my life.
I picked up my two older sisters at 8.30 this morning. We did the new Titanic Experience exhibition in Belfast which was fantastic. Lunch on the street in central Belfast in the sun. Home and had a BBQ and a few glasses of vino and some great chat. Just left eldest to my dads and am having a little tipple before I go to bed.
Cheers sisters. Love you.

Rava - nice one bud.
Cari - the Os are moving on nicely imo. They have a better team spirit this season, from an outsiders viewpoint. You watch, my tip for the most improved HC team next season.
Gibbo - see ya tomorrow
The game will be on in the Sheaf - dedicated TV for rugby and no football to say otherwise.

Well done Glas. Knew the mints would do it.
So you didn't have to reach for those files in the bottom drawer showing profit & loss for "The Texel Shed & Associated Projects"?
31-17 to the Canes over the Rebels. Hurricanes really throwing it around.... points galore. Not even HT.
I'll put some and on, fresh bacon, jugs of tropical fruit juice, thick toast, and even if you want.
Another Big Day ahead again. The sun goes down here in an hour or so and I'm looking forward to the Reds-Brumbies game on later.

Awh that's nice Rava. I love my sister too. She's in France at the mo. I look forward to exploring Belfast myself sometime soon too....
Morning All. Another warm day in Carspliff. Still really windy though which doesn't make much difference outdoors, but creates a bit of free air conditioning inside though.
I'm nervously excited about tomorrow. I just hope it's a really top match to end the Rab with.
- yeah the team spirit dramatically altered when the coaching setup altered funnily enough...no point in wondering what we could've achieved earlier on this season though. I'm still chuffed they made it to the final again

I think I'm still drunk.
No word of a lie, I've just gotten up and have non recollection of how the hell I got home.
Awesome night from what I can remember. Despite my dad picking me up super early tomorrow, am quite tempted to go out tonight too.
Anyone want to pack up all my stuff for me??
Have had an excellent week too. Home in the sunshine, drinking Pimms up the garden after work and eating fresh strawberries from the polytunnel, can't spigging beat it. (unless it's Cardiff and involving shots of jager with every drink, blimey)
