The Dew Drop Inn ERC 2012 Commemorative Pub, Dublin
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The Pub has followed the victorious Leinster team home after last week's Heineken Cup final for a liver-busting celebration.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of the late Simon "Human Windmill" Pitney or those of all the HEC and Amlin Cup finalists.

Hi Rodders & Billy. I'm watching some Giro... plus a bit of footy (just ended). Big wins for Souths and Melbourne.
So you had nice weather on the North Sea, Billy?

Mick, Dublin is not football country. That''s Kerry. Cork is just the best county for everything. Best athlete: Sonia O'Sullivan .Best Hurler: Christy Ring. Best Footballer: N/A Best Soccer Player: Roy Keane/Denis Irwin/The Dav. Best Rugby Player: ROG/Stringer/DOC/O'Mahony. They are all class Best Golfer: Padraig Harrington (Dad's from Cork, spent most of his early days practicing here in the summer.

Last time i was there was the early 00's. I thought that VB was ok, much better than Tooheys? or Fosters.
There was a beer i remember being very nice, red back or something like that.

You managed to find Fosters in Australia?
From memory (I was last there aroun 1999) Carlton Crown wasn't bad. And the Guinness was good.

Yeah i did KRD, in fairness it tastes better over here than there.
I am not sure if it was in NZ or Aus but a beer called Coopers was also a nice drop.

Billy,
If I had to choose a CUB lager it would be Carlton Draught or Reschs.
Crown lager is very nice too.
Coopers, Cascade and Boag's are my favourites from the other breweries.

I've had some beers in Poland but can't remember the names now.
I tried that black vodka through a wheat straw... and got absolutely smashed. No hangover headache the next morning. Just a nice high still.

Munster should be looking to sign him. We badly need a backrow and Elsom is used to playing in Ireland.
Not sure it would be good to bring him to Leinsters biggest rivals though but you never know.

The Queenslanders call it XXXX for a reason.
An Aussie lad I worked with here got a job in Castlemaine's marketing department when he went home. At the time I suggested that his mission was firstly to teach them how to spell "beer", and then to teach them how to make it

Worst thing is that mixed smell of XXXX and Bundy Rum.... makes me
Last one I had was in the 80s... in Goondiwindi. Nice small town miles from anywhere on the Qld border with NSW. There's a big old colonial pub there on the main street. I remember the walls, coasters, bar towels were plastered with "XXXX" and it seemed all the taps were... XXXX.
It was a funny fruity sort of taste.... I've kept away from it since.
