The Dew Drop Inn ERC 2012 Commemorative Pub, Dublin
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The Pub has followed the victorious Leinster team home after last week's Heineken Cup final for a liver-busting celebration.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the picture of the late Simon "Human Windmill" Pitney or those of all the HEC and Amlin Cup finalists.

Yes Lucky, only today and tomorrow though.
Morning Glas, it wont be long before Billy's back.
There's nowt worse than not being able to sleep though, it doesn't happen to me very often, but when it does, I get up, have a fag and read a book, an hour of that usually gets me sorted.
Morning Hoog.

My body clock is tuned to 6 am currently. Light mornings and lots of birds nesting and making a Blydi noise, but it's too warm to close the windows. Wouldnt swap it for city living mind.

That's not too bad then, PJ - plenty of time for a street party on the Monday and Tuesday!
They really speak some guff on Wales Today. A few days ago, they had a reporter saying, "so the excitement is building and the bunting is going up across the country. There have been over 300 applications for street parties..." - at this point I expected her to say "in Cardiff alone", but no, 300 applications in the whole of Wales. That's rubbish! We have at least 400 streets.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn ERC 2012 Commemorative Pub, Dublin
I live near two clay quarries and they often work through the night, when our bedroom windows are open we often wake to the sound of reversing diggers - beep beep beep beep.
That's not quite the same is it?
Lucky, I'm a closet Republican, whilst I'm not in the slightest bit interested in ANY of the "celebrations" I'm certainly looking forward to the extra day off. I'm going to clean out the hot tub on Monday and just chill out on Tuesday.

We'll be there!
I know the reversing beep, don't worry. When I was a kid there were a few opencast mines in the area. You wouldnt hear it so noticably in the day, but on a warm night the pitch of the beep was just right...

Make sure it's Tuesday then Glas, it takes about 16 hours to get back up to temperature.
It's foxes round here - they sound like screaming babies.
I'm off to work now, so in the absence of Billy - if nobody has any objections - I'll do the honours.
Have yourselves a day fellas, have yourselves a day.

Is it warmed by the sun's rays? Is it a hole in the ground in the quarry?

Lucky, you never fail mate.
Glas, neither, but 1700 litres takes some warming up, water comes out the ground at around 8-10 degrees at this time of year, to get it to 40 degrees with a 3kW element takes a while.
See you on Tuesday for a dip.
I'm off.

Morning pub
Off out shortly to deliver a birthday cake for a friend's little boy. Spongebob Squarepants. It's turned out better than I'd hoped, I'm quite proud of myself. Just hope it tastes ok!
Got visitors this afternoon who are staying overnight so I won't be around much today. If some kind person could text me with any updates on Billy I'd be most grateful. Ta!

Feicing hell, I picked a bad day not to be on the boards! Left a message on the thread for the Billdozer. Great poster sound man, good taste in music, helps calm the storm in the Ireland threads. He is a Clareman which isn't great but he is probably the best of a bad lot. Get well soon Billy.

Same here Thomond.
I saw some posts mentioning catching up with me for a pint on the Ireland - All Black thread... but I didn't immediately reply. Then I was out all day yesterday & all evening so I wasn't online until around lunchtime today.
I've written a message on fb for his family, gf and friends. Devastated to hear what's happened. I wish him the best possible recovery. He's a great bloke and we always chat for ages about all sorts of things.

still in a bit of shock about Billy so expect me to be dishing out lots of today.
I'd almost forgotten that Wales are playing rugby today, but I hope that turns out to be a welcome distraction anyways.
Hope everyone has lovely weekends, and that it goes quick for the ones who have to work
