Rugby in Italy
More match fixing scandals in Italian soccer. Now the Italian PM says Italian professional football should be suspended for up to three years!

That seems mad to me. I can't imagine it happening.
But if it did, should the IRB see it as a unique opportunity for rugby to make more inroads in Italy and direct a little extra funding their way for a promotional drive? And host an Amlin and Heineken Cup final there.
I played and supported soccer for most of my life. It was only after I started to understand rugby that I realized that it's actually far more entertaining to watch. There's always something happening. I think plenty of Italians in soccer strongholds could be enticed, as the reputation of Italian soccer is dragged through the mud again.

Re: Rugby in Italy
As long as it does not spread into rugby then why not, after all if there is no football to corrupt, then they will just find something else to corrupt instead.
