CM Punk Retiring
When asked on Twitter about retiring CM Punk responded "Way sooner than you think"
Good for him that he doesn't intend to be another Hogan, Flair etc... but how soon do you think it will be?

Before then. He is 33 now so I think he would retire before he is 40, and may well go out at WM30

Re: CM Punk Retiring
43 is not terribly old for a wrestler.
Stone Cold is 47 and still says he's in shape to wrestle.
The Rock is 40.
Triple H is 42.
Shawn Michaels was 44 when he retired, and he retired at the top of his game.
Chris Jericho is 41.
Kurt Angle is 43 now.
Ten years sounds about right. I don't know why he'd retire before he is 40, and especially don't know why he'd retire in two years time!

No, that's not the point I was making. 43 isn't old for a wrestler, but I believe Punk is the kind of man to get out before that point (when has he ever conformed to the "norm"?). We would think he would be around for another 10 years or so, but his response makes me think he has something else in mind.

Re: CM Punk Retiring
I'll be very surprised if Punk is not still wrestling in ten years time. If not wrestling, he'll definitely be involved in some other way.
It's all he's done his whole life, I doubt the skills needed translate into any other profession.

I would like to think he would be around for another 10 years.
But i can see it happening within the next 5 years. Maybe waiting for WrestleMania to hit Chicago?

I can see him going much earlier. THe fact that he doens't have the skills to go straight into another profession would lead me to think he would want to get out sooner so he doesn't become stuck. He is still young enough to switch to somethign else.

Re: CM Punk Retiring
If he can stay at the top of his game for the next 5-10 years would he simply retire from the industry altogether? Or would he move on to be a mouth piece, faction leader, commentator, even an authority figure? Surely he has the vocal skills and charisma to do all of them and have a very, very long career in WWE while staying safe and not wrestling passed his prime.
