Sin mate, read what Boyne has said again. It makes perfect sense to me but once again you don't seem able to repond to a specific point with a specific answer.
No one asked you who you would select, so I don't know why you need to repost it.
Boyne is pointing out that no one is arguing for Tuohys inclusion at Ryans expense so why are you comparing them?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
On a serious note I've been a fan of Tuohy for the last 2 seasons, and this years he's looked really strong.
Am I alone in liking Toner though?

His carrying is better than you gave him credit for though, you've got to admit he did play well at the weekend.

Third time to post this - do you suffer from attention deficit disorder or something?
You are the biggest fricking special I have ever come across, bar none. You plainly ignore simple English i n front of you and suggest I have issues?
My mental image of you as the breakfast roll man isn't improving....

Why do you have to persuade me that I'm wrong? I couldn't give a rats arse whether you think Tuohy is the greatest thing since the slice pan - I just know that he is going to find it very difficult to get ahead of 6'7" Ryan to partner POC.
Even by your standard that is some straw man.
No one has said Tuohy is the greatestthing since sliced bread and no one has said POC or Ryan should be droped for his inclusion.
Just answer two simple questions.
Which under 30 years old Irish locks are better than Tuohy ?
Who has had the better season Tuohy or DOC ?
I await your replies more in hope than anticipation.
I see another 'Go off at a tangent' moment coming on...............
Why is there an age limit on it?
I think Ryan is better than Tuohy. I don't think its right to compare Toner & Tuohy as they offer different things - but Toner had a fairly good season overall.
DOC (in comparison to other years) would have had a poor season for Munster, but he did ok for Ireland at the world cup & 6Ns with his usual partner POC.
Fortunately for Ulster, we'll never know what kind of season they would have had (or Tuohy would have played) if they were missing Muller.
In short, I don't think DOC was as bad as all of you make him out to be.

Actually they missed Muller a lot - during the RWC and when injured between the 6 nations and Easter. Tuohy has partnered Stevenson a lot this year. They work together very well, and Tuohy impressed me greatly in the line out in this period.

Also, the question was asked if you think DOC has had a better season than Tuohy - a yes or no question - the question was not asking if you think people have been harsh on DOC. You can't seem to answer a simple question.

Toner is assuming more bulk, which was always one of my criticisms of him that he didn't seem to be able to gain it.
We'll see how he goes from here and whether or not he achieves International liftoff.

I am jesting a little Mickado - He's probably where Charteris was 2-3 years ago and he has exceeded all my expectations, no reason why Toner can't do the same - looks a good bloke to so good luck to him - With POC and DOC you guys have been spoiled in that area for too long though

I think DOC is a good option, but only if he’s been learning from Horan and our plan is to go out and injure as many all blacks as possible.

Re: Irish Summer Tour Squad
The under 30 thing is simple.
In as little as 2/3 years it is perfectly possible that injury, old age extra could deprive Ireland of the services of POC, DOC, Cullen, McCarthy, Hayes (not that he was ever in the frame). In terms of decline it has already started to happen. Also we have lost MOD and Casey (again if he was ever an option).
So my point is after those guys are gone who will carry the Irish mantel at lock.
We have Ryan, Tuohy, Toner, Stevenson, Browne, Nagle - which players will be pulling on the green jersey ?

Oh I know you were joking, you said Shane Williams would “blow him back in the tackle”, I knew it was a joke then. But that wouldn’t have been beyond the realms of possibility last year or the year before, he’s greatly improved his carrying.

What relevance has McLaughlin to do with it ?
We were down to our 4th choice LH at the time and even played a hooker there once. We missed the direction of Peinaer and Wallace in midfield big time and lost our FB.
The second row was actually an area where we did ok in that period.

See, thats not really a case is it? Because the lineout in that part of the season when Tuohy was middle jumper and calling them is one of the things that was quite good. Not as good as with Muller obviously but he showed how much he had improved.
There are a lot of reasons why Ulster were playing poorly in the first part of the season. It's not as simple as one player missing. Of course, losing your Captain, best scrummaging and lineout jumping lock and leader is/was one of the bigger factors.

Nope I think Sin is on to something here. The reason Ulster were performing poorly in that period of time, was because Tuohy is 6 foot 5. If we had someone who is 6 foot 7, maybe things wouldn't have been so bad. Alas, that was not the case.

I got a permanent ban by boards.ie over that one. They sure have some mental mods. If they didn't agree with you they banned you for a week. Eventually they all mounted up as we used disagree a lot.
Unfortunately, as time has proved, I was right as well.

I thought he was a project because Straus is nearly there. Its even better that he is already qualified.
In 3 years time expect to see Ryan & Nagle starting for Munster, Tuohy & Henderson for Ulster & Toner & Denton for Leinster.
Munster have a few 6'5" backrows who could do a job as well in the 2nd row.
