Will Jail change Mayweather?
Floyd heads to Jail tomorrow. Now, American Jails are not as bad as the big prisons, so I here, where all manner of atrocities are carried out daily, but it is still no Butlins.
Mayweather will be without his home comforts for at least 6 weeks, and is likely going to have to be segregated from other inmates to avoid potential molestation. How do you think this will affect him?
He had a rough upbringing, so we can assume he is not softy in respect to being in horrible surroundings. But no training, gambling, top notch food, or home comforts is only going to lead him to having a lot of thinking time.
What does the future hold for May? Will Jail change him, or is it too short a stint to really matter?

Re: Will Jail change Mayweather?
I don't think it will change him too much. I presume he'll be well looked after in there and not really experience real jail time. His personality and character has been developed over 35 years or so, so don't think a few weeks will change him. I'd say he'd be worse off in Butlins..
Will he not be able to train at all in any capacity? I thought they get gym time or time outside to do exercise?

He'll only be there a couple of weeks, probably do a Lohan and get let out in no time as money and fame buy justice in the States.
He'll be in soft cell with plenty of comforts, guards kissing up to him and other prisoners not bothering him.
Don't see it changing a thing.

Yeah, probabaly right. Sounds like boredom and a little discomfort will be his only real probs. You really can buy justice in America, it's shocking.
If we went to prison there we would be renamed by the closest girl sounding names (Seanetta for me) and put to work as someones play thing. But if you have money, forget it

Re: Will Jail change Mayweather?
Impossible to predict, really. He's put an exceedingly brave face on it in public, but that's exactly what you'd expect from such a character.
That said, judging from people I know who've done a bit of porridge themselves, the general feeling I get is that it matters not one jot what you do for a living, how old or young you are, what kind of upbringing you've had; jail is still the most soul-sapping place a person can be in.
I suppose it's possible that Mayweather, as someone who has excelled so tremendously in such a hard, unforgiving sport, may have some inner fountain of strength which will make the ordeal not quite so unbearable, but I wouldn't like to bet on it.
Entirely possible that such an experience could even force him to reevaluate his life and aims - who's to say what impact this could have on whether or not he ever fights again?

Best way to avoid molestation in prison? Be a cannibal
Mayweathers got money - lots and lots of money - all he has to do is find a couple of massive guys and offer them money for protection.

Someone who uses mother effer in every sentence is not my cup of tea mate, but I'm an old fashioned sod.

Roger Mayweather does not have very many nice things to say about anyone. Not even when May wins his fight does he give opponents any credit

Re: Will Jail change Mayweather?
I would like to think it would have an effect on him but then again, this is Floyd Mayweather Jnr so who knows. Whether it does or not you would never know but he has the mental strength to overcome anything in my opinion, let's hope he comes out a little more humble that's all I can say.

I doubt it. Especially if the jail is more like a hotel.
Id say a 6 week training camp would be tougher.

I can't see it changing him. Even if it did have any sort of affect on him he wouldn't let slip.

He's been speaking about possible retirement today so maybe he will hang em up, can't see it though his ego is too big to walk away
