Diamond Jubilee - Page 2 Empty Diamond Jubilee

Post by azania Thu 31 May 2012, 8:41 pm

First topic message reminder :

Now that the country's about to celebrate the world's biggest benefit scrounger reigning for 60 years over you guys, which fights since 1952 stands out either in terms of excitement or impact.

The obvious one is Ali/Liston.

It's in the Queen's remit should she choose to do it............

to kick out the Prime minister tomorrow....army is sworn to her!!!

Like all of your monarchs dating back to henry the 8th she has huge power.......

She doesn't use it.....but silly to say she hasn't got huge power...

She's the biggest fish this Country has...

Sorry but that is so wrong. The Queen's 'powers' can be taken away from her at the (metaphorical) click of a finger.

No one is arguing the fact she doesn't use it as Monarchs have in the past......

My argument..... it's in her remit to be the most powerful figure in your Country...as the head of the army naturally is!!

So there..... drumroll

Interesting (eh?) as this is, it has strayed somewhat from boxing, so please consider this thread now closed.

No they can't................

Any attempted usurping of the monastry means the army comes in to protect their leader...

Things have to be passed through the commons and Lords..white papers etc....but that's bollox anyway

Cause a huge uprising of the people should the monarchy be up for demolition...

Anarchy.................

You haven't got a clue Son........

The Queen has the final say on constitutional crisis and is head of your army...

= Huge power!!!!!!! drumroll

I have (and do) studied Constitutional and Public Law, Trussman. I certainly do have a clue.

As Union said, though, this is far too removed from boxing so I will leave it there.

Didn't Henry VIII deal with those in the 1500's?

Regardless, that's enough!

Hehe I just love the tune (and lyrics) it's rousing and uplifting which is what a national anthem should be.

Star Spangled Banner and La Marseillaise being two excellent examples.

Also, the lyrics are by a British poet and the tune by a British composer and the story about the big JC (we're still technically a Christian country) visiting Glastonbury (now home to the world's largest festival and one of the most famous modern things of this country).

'Jerusalem' actually refers to heaven, not the city too.

You can just jazz it up a bit.........but without confusing people with a new song title...

Just replace it with the sex pistols version.......... drumroll

And did those feet in ancient time.
Walk upon England's mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England's pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England's green & pleasant Land

AWESOME Very Happy
