His best wins are Lucian Bute and Robin Reid that the only guys that achieved something at 168

Jermain Taylor

Well, if you put it like ....

Mind you, if Jermain Taylor was shot, what does that make Roy Jones Jr? And Richie Woodall. Wasn't he a middleweight for the vast majority of his career with no real impact at super middleweight? Nah, I'm just being picky now.

some valid points, but clearly biased in your views, as you call some of Froch's wins as "against bums", when JC did not exactly fight people in their prime... and when he did he was at home.

I think Froch would have given JC a tough fight.

Jesus this sounds like one of Froch rants about Calzaghe.

Just watched the highlights of the Froch vs Bute fight and was amazed how often Froch slapped with the inside of the glove, especially when he's mocked Calzaghe for doing it.

No way man, carl didnt take years to do what he did, joe was one step forward six back, stay at home ish and fought a shell of rrj and a past prime eubank. those two in their prime would have been way more than just a record filler.

Froch would walk through JC's pitter-patter punches and cause him trouble but I think Joe's higher work rate and classier shot-picking would see him through to a UD by 2-3 rounds.

This poster seems a bit of a prat but I'd agree overall that JC's record (and Brit ATG status) is still ahead of Froch's, and will be even if Carl avenges Kessler. Especially as Carl is too old now to rest on his laurels and score 'longevity points' making soft defences for a few years.

Lies, damned lies and statistics!!! never a truer line in history..

Norris has quality galore on his record..........Taylor, Brown, Curry, Leonard even Mugabi was admired!!!

However all were either passed it or out of their comfort zone...

Lacy for me Calzaghe's stand out win and he wasn't a legend...

Not much in it between Calzaghe and froch...However I rate Joe higher for his longevity and the fact he never lost!!!

A massive problem for Froch in terms of legacy is the fact he is not the true world champion. Even if he beats Kessler in a rematch he will STILL not be the true champion and not eclipse Joe Calz and history will reflect this. In 50 years time Froch will not be remembered but Calzaghe will, whatever you say about resumes and tough opponents. This is because Froch is still a paper champion.

Put quite simply, Froch MUST beat Ward to be placed on a similar level. Do this and he becomes the real deal. At the moment he's beaten biggish names who've done their best work north or south of super mid. Bute is his best win but is reminicent of Lacy for Calzaghe.

Froch really has to be the real champion before we start any comparisons.
