Update:
Meaningful_Munster wrote:I am at the hospital now. Its not as bad as first thought. He has several broken bones, mainly his ribs arms and legs. He has a head like a bowl of mashed potatoe but i have been told that he was swearing like an old sailor which is a good sign. He will have several operations over the next few weeks but should make a full recovery.
What happened was that the helicopter he was in took off from Den Helder, got about 15 meters in the air before the rotor ceased and sent the helicopting spinning ditching back to the tarmac.
Latest good news from Gibbo 02 June 2012:
Gibson wrote:Just got a text from Billy's sis.
Billy woke up this morning and started cursing at the medics. He wants to get up and out.
They had to calm him down as he cant be getting too excited. His sis says he looks horrible (no change there ) but HE said he's grand.
The man from Sixmilebridge is on the way back.
He's unreal. He's probably asking to get ready for NZ and is giving them shoite over it. Not fully checked out yet but it sounds like he's going to cause them problems, so they are sedating him and limiting visitors so he can rest.
You know, in the midst of all this I forgot to ask about his workmates in the Chopper. I'll ask later.
Latest update from Billy's GF via Rava 03/06/12:
I just spoke to him on the phone. He is weak, but positive. Obviously in a lot of pain but insists that he is okey.
Great news, you just can't keep a good Munster man down

Hi
There are so many of you who wants updates on Alec so this is a message Im copying and sending to everybody.
He has been to another hospital today for a scan to check his brain. The doctors wanted to check how the swelling was and also look for any brain damage. He still has trouble speaking. The results are good, there is still some swelling but it keeps getting better. They cant find any signs of permanent damage. Alec is expected to make a full recovery, he just needs time.
According to his secretary he is happy with the results and I was told to feck off with my worry. He appears to be himself

I have had another message from Toril. Short and sweet: -
Alec wants to thank you all again for your wishes and concern
He insists he's fine and simply needs time to heal.
I asked her when she was going to get to Holland: -
I will go at the end of next week

Good on you billy! That's a good thing you have limited internet. For feck's sake leave the Ireland 2nd test thread well alone. You'll get trapped in a revolving provincial argument and your blood pressure will rise. Far better to throw a f bomb at Biltong on the Springbok thread and say his U20 lads are just the same as the national team: incapable of beating Ireland.

Just to update you Billy on the 606 rugby stuff since you've been away:
Wales continue to dominate Northern Hemisphere rugby and after coming back to 20-19 against Australia in the first test were robbed by the referee in the last few minutes. Wales played the game only 3 hours after coming off a 29 hour flight.
Plucky England went down to a very young S Africa development side, however there was controversy afterwards as the usual after drink invite in the Saffers changing room to the opposing players was only taken up by Barritt and Botha. The England RFU are holding an internal inquiry
After the recent economic crisis in Ireland the IRFU decided not to tour NZ and instead sent their first team to the Junior RWC where they beat SA. Deccie said it was encouraging although a 14 year old Saffer scrum half is now facing disciplinary action after punching OGara out cold.
Scotland had an encouraging 9-6 victory in tropical conditions against an Australian Barbarians development XV who had Rupert Murdoch and Rolf Harris at half back and out half respectively with Dame Edna and Kylie in the centre. Andy Robinson was encouraged by the performance and is looking forward to playing a Fijian national side.
So there you have it really, The Grand Slammers continue to dominate while the others are, plucky, ducky and lucky respectively. Get well soon

Get better and post more, the Irish lads are lost without you, they struggle even more than usual to keep any thread on topic without you.

Remove that gutted Chap from Billy's sight! Billy needs happy thoughts.
We smashed them Billy, had them on the ropes, their tongues were showing... the pale blood of shock coloured their eyesockets. What killed us was the ref allowing the drop goal at the end to stand.
He knows that can't be allowed. It's illegal for an All Black to take the cheap route to a score!
