The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....

I find it slightly ironic that geoff's original remark was ok because it was "only Exeter" - if someone said that about Ulster, there would be (perhaps justifiably) outrage from the same posters. Ah well, hope it doesn't damage relations, Exe and Ulster have always worked in harmony - McKenzie, Stevenson, Tuohy, Steenson, Andress and now WhittenWillyGilly wrote:Notch wrote:The Bridge House on Dublin Road rodders. Many happy nights spent here.
T the kurfuffle started over something Geoff said about andress and Exeter. Asbo took him down a peg perfectly justifiably, I weighed in with a cheeky wee comment of my own and I have done countless times, and Geoff ain't been back since. No mallice or nastyness and if he can't take a bit of debate good ridance to him. 'Contacts' or not.
Still hoping your boys get drawn for a trip to Ravenhill in the Heino chief!

Asbo,
Surely a good fan like yourself should be man enough to bury his little hatchet.
Preferably NOT in the back of someone's head!!!

Noswaith dda pawb / good evening all.
I'm watching the Diamond League athletics from Oslo. In my day, they showed athletics on the main channels; nowadays it's relegated to the rubbishy ones.

It wasn't what my answer was they were looking for, but how I answered, apparently. Obviously if I was a Tory I would have been marched out of there.

Evening pub,
Know it's a school night but
A friend I used to work with gave birth to her first child this afternoon, a not-so-little boy called Arthur, 8lb 10oz, both are fine. I am thrilled for her... and off shopping for a nice little present tomorrow

Lovely news, Swanny.
Why is it that old-fashioned boys' names are back in vogue, but not old-fashioned girls' names? You hear quite a few Arthurs, Archies and Georges, but not so many Mauds and Muriels.

If I told mine at every interview Ive had... Id not only have failed the interviews, Id have been locked up for being a radical. Hard to work for Corporations sometimes, when one knows what they are doing and how they are doing it. Goes against the grain. But, kids must be reared, fed, watered and educated, hols to be paid for, rugby tours to be had and rent paid.
Its the stick you have to take to get to the carrot. Unless you live in a cave. Its called Society.
So my conundrum is, I am an International Champagne Socialist. Really hypocritically feiced up, in all honesty.
I remember I told my views, pished, standing on a table, in a crowded wine-bar in The City (London) once. Right at the height of Maggie Thatcher's me, me, me and phhok de miners and the North (incl. Scotland + Wales) reign.
My contract was not renewed for some strange reason. Free-Masonary for ya eh? What's it about bricks anyway?
I felt so much better for it though. Got a contract back in the Dam before I served my time out. The Clogs appreciate and protect free-speech & ehonesty like it hurts. I'd miss that.
So Willy, you dissed the Man they called Geoff The All Knowing. For shame lad.
The man is old enough and wise enough to be able to handle a quip from a whippet.
He'll be back. Otherwise how would the Ulster fans know whats really going on?
I know. Just ask Rav.
I like Geoff. He has passion for his province at heart. But, sometimes it should come with two-way respect.
I mean Exeter... its like shootin fish in a Devon barrel. Not on. Not on atall atall.

Penfro suggested taking the pub to Jedburgh, home of Greig Laidlaw.

Cool. And pics? I'm thinking all the June international team captains. An impressive collection of flankers. Plus Ford, BOD and JDV of course

Good call Rav.
Zeeeeeebooooooooooooo!
I have a feeling he's going to fly this Sat. He's so talented, so raw, has so much to learn yet, but man, that can be so dangerous. Both ways like. But its taking a chance. God Bless Our Deccie. Always loved that man.
Im excited tbh. Be fantastic if Fitzpatrick steps up too. This is all I ever wanted. Like 3 years ago.
I feel a Movement in the Force.
