The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....
Old pub: https://www.606v2.com/t29683p950-the-dew-drop-inn-erc-2012-commemorative-pub-dublin#1271612

You sometimes come across a nobber who tries to crush your fingers, but I always find a thumb between their knuckles tends to calm them down.
Confidence is to believe SA will win the test series, arrogance is when England believe......
Why you...
This is how you do it PJ.
Yeah? How d'ya like them apples then boss?
Put them apples on you head if you dare.

Ireland U20s vs South Africa U20s is coming on soon, in case anyone forgets
I nearly did. I see that there have been some pretty one-sided games earlier in the day... hope we can buck the trend, but as much as we have a few really talented guys we don't have anywhere near the depth of talent of South Africa...

You're doing alright Notch. 13-3 up. Two great locks who are not letting the Baby Boks have it their own way up front. Slicker handling in the loose too.
JJ Hanrahan playing at 10 a is a surprise choice. SA look a bit rudderless tbh. Maybe thought they just needed to rock up.

Great first 40 for Ireland, looking the business against a somewhat shell-shocked baby Bok side.

I'm mightily impressed by our youngsters. Put a lot of pressure on the Boks and the mistakes came.

Discovered the other day that my Bro-in-law played with young Henderson's Dad.

I think they out-Bokked the Bokke that half Rav, great intensity but with plenty of calm about them too, JJ is looking very composed.

Yep, doing pretty well Hound! Very pleased with that first half effort. Effort is the key word, working our bollox off. Hope it can be maintained.
For me Hanrahan is still best at 12 but he's showing his talented. Only criticism is a few overcooked kicks from hand. Think we'll be seeing more of Henderson at Ravenhill next season too.

Evening Mrs P, missed your post in all the excitement.
Good pressure from the Boks there, Ireland defended very well but need to come back with something now.

He played 8 in the schools cup final, though at 6 foot 6 I really think he should be left in the second row.

I do believe his mobility will serve him well in the second row. The way the game is going having a mobile, ball carrying lock is a great advantage.

Well played Ireland, totally flustered SA there, they just never let the baby-Boks get started.
Congratulations on winning the second place decider.

I agree. He is very much like Gray in terms of playing style. Needs partnered with some real grunt though (Thorn-esque).

Comes with the territory Dreamer.
Great win for Ireland. Never seen so much belief in a team. Hanrahan was masterful. Henderson a giant. They all gave their all as a unit. The joint-tacklng and hits on SA's huge forwards, from 1 to 15 - was a sight to behold. As was the flooding of the breakdown. SA had better get their lineout sorted or it will continue to hurt them.
Congrats to Mike Ruddock. He out-foxed his counterpart tactically there.
Great win by Argentina over France also. Two shocks in one day.
England v Ireland should be a cracker.

Míle buiochas do TG4, clúdach den scoth. Tá comhbhá agam do Biltong, rinne na Boks iarracht maith agus bhain mé an sult as an gcluiche. Is é mo thuairim go raibh Éire an foireann níos fearr, thaispeán siad níos mó comhoibriú agus is laoch iad go léir. Ceapaimse go bhféidir leis imirt 10 nó 12, ba mhaith liom e a fheicéail ag a 10, bheadh sé cosúil le Madigan. Is imreoir an- cruthaitheach é, is féidir leis rith ar luas lasrach.
(Thanks a lot to TG4, top coverage. I have sympathies for Biltong, Boks gave it a right go, I enjoyed the game immensely. In my opinion, Ireland were the better team, they showed better co-operation and teamwork, they are all heroes. Very proud of them. Ireland were great in the lineout but faded in the scrum in the last 20 minutes. Hanrahan completely transformed after a rough start. He had a great game. He has the ability to play 10/12, I want to see him play 10, he would be like Madigan. He is very creative and he can run like greased lightning.)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
All I want for this tournament is for Wales not to suffer such a horrible defeat to NZ again. It was like 92-0 or something ych like that. Got the win over Fiji already, need a win over Samoa and a much better showing against NZ for us to take positives from this tournament.
To be fair, we're in a much better place this time around to compete with NZ, last time out they were mainly 18yr olds, not 20yrs olds for us, and 2 years at this age grade can make a big difference.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
A quick request for help.
If any of the regs into their music can do my stepson a favour I'd appreciate it.
Would you listen to this please and make some suggestions?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUu4Je7dlgI&feature=relmfu
It's my stepson and his mate who have just recently got themselves semi-organised into a two-piece acoustic set-up.
They have about 7 songs they can play to a reasonable standard but are looking to put together a set of around 20 songs.
The question is, can anyone think of any tracks that are sort of contemporary, but will also suit their stripped back style of a guitar and a cajon?
Thanks in advance.
