The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....
Old pub: https://www.606v2.com/t29683p950-the-dew-drop-inn-erc-2012-commemorative-pub-dublin#1271612

It wasnt football Bread. It was Put em under Pressure.
And we had a team back then, that really could play football. But Jack said no.
Having said that, it was Ireland's 1st ever tournament and I was there.
Incredible week in Germany.
Irish soccer fans are magic on Tour. Not so sure about the FAI.

Yeah man. Aldridge and Houghton had 6 lost Irish fans, sleeping on their hotel room floor at one stage. Class. Would never happen again.
So many real stories came out of that gig.
I met up with a guy on that Tour.. Eddie his name was. His missus rang him in a mad fit, when she found out he'd stretched their Credit-Union loan to its max.
She was not best pleased.
He just said "Ah sure I'll worry about that later. She loves me really"
I wonder are they still married? Probably on Tour together now. Bless.

Yours and my kinda bank man.
Having said that, Eco-banking and saving the Planet, has all the usual suspects involved. Including the Oil-Companies, who held it back for yonks. They do that to cover up all the mayhem they are causing elsewhere. Its sexy. It sells.

I want a pension that tracks the FTSE100. Sorted, Flip the fund managers, just tell then here's a hundred and ten pounds a month. Keep £10 for your trouble and put a pound each on the FTSE100.

Id run that by our As, before ya do mate.
Dunno if putting a pound on every horse in the National quite works out that well, Glas.
Stick with sheeps butt. Meanwhile, I'll stick with I know best... also sheeps.

Will do Glas. Just mopping up after the damage last night. Busy few days ahead but I'll have a look today.
I must say it was quite an honour to see the Wallabies getting convincingly smothered by Scotland last night. They couldn't have been beaten by a nicer, more well deserving team. So far from home (but like home) too!
It was a lesson about hanging in there until the final whistle and sticking to your plans. They played very well under those conditions and the Aussies just couldn't break through that defence.
Best of luck Asbo, RDW, EFS & Co. - for the Fiji and Samoa matches. I think they will have gained a lot of confidence from last night.
Only a few days to go before the first Test in Brisbane... and awaiting the team announcement on Thursday but the pressure is now even more upon the Wobblies to perform with whatever side takes the field. No need to panic just yet though. Surely, it won't be weather like that again on Saturday?

Hah Gibbo! They're a feisty bunch of fiery feicers aren't they?
I had this ominous feeling yesterday... in fact posted it in Full Credit's thread.
It was like a premonition I had. You wouldn't believe I tipped Oz by 23 and by 5pm yesterday I just had this low scoring "6-3" or something in my head. Half time confirmed it and I just hoped the Wallabies could score the same points against Scotland in the 2nd half... at least.
I would have been happy with the draw. The build up to the penalty was written in stone too! Could see it coming for miles - the inevitable decisive score approaching.

I used the "if life gives you lemons..." in my inspirational speech at the alma mater. I said, it doesn't really work as a metaphor around here, because we tend to buy lemonade in the shop and don't have a culture of making it. A sea of blank faces.

Mate if I didn't pass these exams by September this year, I would lose my license to practice.
The financial services board promised us if we completed our post graduate diplomas in financial planning in 2000 we would not have to write anymore exams, just do continious professional development workshops to a certain level.
Then last year they brought out these Regulatory exams, and from what I hear there are more to come, it is ridiculous stuff but doesn't end, in my opinion it is just a job creation method and money making tool, the problem is you don't do it you lose your license.

Well done Biltong. Must be a huge relief.
I've to do CPD too, no exams though. We have to re-register every March. I'm usually cramming courses in from about Nov-April 31.
It never ends.

Rava - no chance of seeing anything in the sky that's above the clouds here either. The heavens have just opened, and although the sun is trying to come out, it's a bit shy.

Bore da pawb / good morning all - and llongyfarchiadau, Biltong!
I forgot to mention yesterday, but I took the pup to Swansea Bay on Monday - the first time she'd been to the beach, so she had a whale of a time. She's not great at coming when she's called, though, so she ran off after a couple and their dog further down the beach. I caught up with them and the bloke turned out to be Paul Moriarty.
Then she ran onto the 'no dogs' section of the beach (there isn't even a fence to separate the two sections) where she made a woman cry.
