The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....
Old pub: https://www.606v2.com/t29683p950-the-dew-drop-inn-erc-2012-commemorative-pub-dublin#1271612

Kiwi, have you thought of trying the Dental Teaching Hospitals for someone to look at your filling? I remember doing that in Belfast once at the Queens Univ. Students need the practice!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
I've got a cold lucky, which had better feic off by Friday.
Otherwise ok. I watched a lot of televised rugby over the weekend (travelled to and from Ealing 3 times) and got exposed to the elements several times. Probably accounts for the cold.
I'm in work so the mind is busy

Oh, it's the beer festival this Friday, isn't it? I'm not going to be able to make that, but I'm free to come to Cardiff to watch Wales v the Wallabies. You're hanging around for that, am I right?

I couldn't tell you, Cari. I was hoping the Wales team would be announced today, but I don't know when that's due either. I do not have my finger on the pulse.

They wouldn't announce the Wales team today surely? Usually they leave it until Friday lunchtime.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
Latest message from Billy's GF.
Hi Ian
Yes I did post. I might post another update if Alec wants me to, but that forum is his arena. I will let him have it for himself. And of course, I have no interest whatsoever in rugby
As soon as he is able to type and use a computer I will delete my account.
There is no real news, his legs have been set, he cant use his arms, swelling on the brain is better, but he still has the occasional blackout and trouble speaking. Apparently the pain isnt too bad, but Im not sure I believe him.. He has multiple fractures in both arms, both legs and chest and has had two surgeries to repair the damage. He will need many months of rehabilitation to recover, but the doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery
If there is any news I will let you know.

It would be Australian time, not UK time. Ireland are due to announce their team at 2am tonight Irish time.
Billy is a real trooper, thats a pretty horrific list of injuries.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
Good afternoon all!!!!
I'm pleased to hear Billy's on the mend, with so many fingers firmly crossed for him he'll no doubt make a full recovery for what seems to have been a long list of terrible injuries. Good luck Billy.
Well I am back from my hols and the fact that I've started the working week on a wednesday does not help one bit, I'm still hacked off at having to come into this place grrrrrr. Still, it's nice summery weather we're having.....well typical summer weather that is

Hi all. Any news.
Billy fair play pal - your like a good minor hurler with those injury list. Sixmilebridge are playing against Crusheen next week - I expect you to be starting at corner forward.
PS I see the Ulster Signings thread is still going!!

Notch this seems to be the theme.
- People shout out rumours
- Geoff doesnt confirm or deny them
- Ulster make a signing
- He says "I was right"
- Everyone then goes back to rumour mill once again

Is it safe for me to bring up the Henson rumour again. That gathered real steam last time (til you wrecked it)

Surely you can't catch them out twice with the same thing? You're welcome to try and prove me wrong...

Question:
If Ospreys drew Leinster in the pool stages and Scarlets drew Munster, do you think that they would manage to come out on top.

G'day all, still recovering from the usual, fun-packed Devon long weekend - Tricky , chase marauding herd of cows from orchard, Tricky , raft-racing, more Tricky , candle-lit procession to light the beacon, top-up Tricky - just grand. But v little internet time & at the same time
I find myself torn over billy's injuries - on the one hand delighted that he will fully recover, on the other utterly aghast at the extent of the injuries - I wonder why the pilot wasn't able to autorotate, gets you out of most helicopter problems. For bill -
Not going to say much about the Scotland game, mainly cos i still haven't seen the game - amazing what a squad of young, talented players can do when they get their chance tho, but not reading too much beyond an incredible defensive effort at this point. Breaker - : - have some of this, bud

I don't know about top stag, but they'd beat them. They would most probs mess up against other teams.
