The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....
Old pub: https://www.606v2.com/t29683p950-the-dew-drop-inn-erc-2012-commemorative-pub-dublin#1271612

Asbo - that sounds an utterly fantastic weekend!
Stag - the o's , yes. Scarlets should be yes, but I'll reserve full judgement on that until I've seen how we play with easterby as head coach.

Is that based on the activity schedule or the amount of Tricky he consumed

The Olympic torch drove past me at a roundabout today. Couldn't get the iPhone switched over to camera quick enough though. Probably a good thing too given the numerous police outriders accompanying her.

So Andy Murray's out of the French Open. 60-odd unforced errors. Better player than me, mind.

I'm really no good at tennis. Either I get under the ball and sky it, or I get over the ball too much and it hits the net. Plus I don't really know whether to serve left- or right-handed. I don't know which feels the more natural.

That's an awfully heavy thing to throw Glas?
Lucky,
I seem to remember someone telling me that serving in tennis is kind of like throwing your racquet at the ball without letting go of it.
So I think you should serve left handed.

Evening pub
I was always useless at tennis, severely lacking the necessary upper body strength. Didn't help that our school tennis courts were on a slope
Cross country and 1500 metres were my forté. Shame I stopped when I left school really.

Thanks, Mrs P - I'll be a world-beater now!
Glas, I remember reading an interview with Super Furry Animals and one of them was asked why they always spoke Welsh to each other; his answer was something like, "I can't speak English to them. Well, I can, like I can w@nk with my left hand, but it just doesn't feel right.".

Me too Lucky, I loved it. Almost everyone in my year hated them but they suited me. Guess we're both built for stamina not speed
Every time I watch the London Marathon I wonder if I could do it? It'd take some serious dedication and effort but it does appeal, it's on my 'would like to do' list.

What do you make of it Kiwi? There may be a few new caps, but based on what I've seen it's near the best team on form. Should be more than good enough, no matter what the rugby romantic in me says!

It's a seriously strong looking side. The new caps have all been playing well this season and are surrounded by massively experienced team mates.

The most concerning thing for me is Woodcock at loosehead against either a half-fit Mike Ross or a debutant in Declan Fitzpatrick... but if thats the only area we are stretched we'll be exceptionally lucky! They have more than our match all over the park.

I'm happy to see Smith start, I would have had Ellis over Weepu in the squad on form (though I may be biased). Smith's passing game should be worth watching with front foot ball - Ellis cleaned his clock last week, but the Crusaders' pack were rampant too. I agree with resting Nonu, SBW is comfortably the form 12 in world rugby this year. Guildford on the right wing is interesting, and Vito is more of a like-for-like replacement for Kaino than Thompson, though I'd still rather have Ferris or O'Brien at 6.
Retallick has plenty of form, so as long as Whitelock can step up and lead the lineout I'm not too worried there. My main concern would be lack of prep time in camp, but at least it's not as bad as the Aussies!
And we don't have Declan Kidney. Advantage All Blacks
