The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....
Old pub: https://www.606v2.com/t29683p950-the-dew-drop-inn-erc-2012-commemorative-pub-dublin#1271612

The big question for Kiwi is how many ABs he'd replace with Irish players in his squad, and for our Irish chums, how many Irish players they'd replace with ABs - let the games begin

Buenas tardes, amigos. So, just watched the second half of Aus v Sco - bl**dy amazing that Scotland were camped in their own half, if not their own line for 35 minutes of the second half - awesome defensove effort - and then came back and won at the death. I just loved it.
Anyway, what's happening, folks? Got the stitches out of my hand on Monday. Holy Moly, wish I'd done it myself. Sorry to say that local clinic is not up to scratch - had to remove the suture that they left behind myself today. Nothing, however, to wjat EireBilly is going through just now. But I know that reading the posts from 606v2 will be giving him a massive boost. Keep it up amigos

Whoever wrote the WRU website's player profiles needs to be shot. They had this to say on Scott Williams: ""
And apparently Ashley Beck is still in the Ospreys' U18 squad.
Mutter mutter mutter (PS, Glas, I've added an "additional reporting by KRD" byline to your Wales tour preview, just so you can blame me for the blurbs on the above).
As for Irishmen in the ABs starting XV, I'd have O'Brien (or Ferris if fit) at 6, Tommy Bowe at 14, and possibly Cronin at hooker. There's a couple of other close match ups, and O'Connell would walk in if fit,

Erm, because I had a brain fade on which Irish hooker was which.
Glas, "cleaned his clock" means "utterly outperformed"

I was all ready to talk about how Cronins mobility and pace would see him thrive in Super Rugby, whereas Bests game in the tight is valued higher in these parts but you're answer is good too!

Its a measure of my balanced upbringing that I have heard both the phrase to clean someones clock and the slightly more common now she's sucking diesel. The clock one might be a tad posher though.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
I prefer Cronin. If he was South African every club in Europe would be after him. Such pace and handling for a hooker. Quite fantastic.
Anyhow, Stag, your Flip blog is a Kumquat to Flip post anything on. Half an hour I spent reading and providing a response only for it to Flip eat it and for me to get embroiled with Flip google the Kumquat s!

Rather than pay a fund manager to pick and chose shares just spread it evenly accross the FTSE 100.

Perfectly sensible, it's called equal weighting or 1/n, a viable alternative to weighting by market capitalisation. You might also think about equal risk weighting, or equal weighting to risk factors

I like this from Rob Kearney
“Because you’re representing your country against the All Blacks in their own back yard. I think that, as a professional player, if you can’t get yourself fired up at that thought alone then you are probably playing in the wrong game.”
– Rob Kearney, when asked by a Kiwi journalist how does he fire himself up for this weekend’s game.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
Yeah. I hope these guys can pull it off. I think we have natural winners in this team. Guys like Best, Ryan, O'Brien, O'Mahony, Sexton, O'Driscoll, Kearney... They don't travel on tours like this to settle for second place.
I do just increasingly feel that they aren't being provided the tools to tap into that winning potential from the coaches, who set the tone, and some of their teammates just aren't that quality either. I'm not optimistic, which is a shame for the genuinely class players we have. Just hope we leave New Zealand with our pride intact, some reputations enhanced and most importantly a clear idea of how this team will move forward in the next few years.

OMG!!! (not a term I use a lot)
I am CHUFFED and astounded by that Irish team.
- No Trimble
- No Darcy
- No O'Callaghan
- O'Driscoll and Earls in the centres
- A new look back three
- Cave and McLaughlin on the bench
Feic it the optimist in me has awoken.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, buckets of rain here in Newport earlier. The pup doesn't mind the rain too much now though, so our walk wasn't so bad.
My uncle's run it. I made a £50 bet with my middle sister that I'd run it by the time I was 30. It's now £100 that I'll run it by the time I'm 40!

Every time I watch the London Marathon I wonder if I could do it? It'd take some serious dedication and effort but it does appeal, it's on my 'would like to do' list.
