The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Sixmilebridge
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to the homeland of the wonderful Eirebilly, who we were all horrified to hear that he was involved in a helicopter crash on Friday. Better news though is that he's awake and swearing like a sailor, so no change there Feel free to take in all of the pubs, of which the Greyhound is but one of many.
Updates on Billy's progress can be found here: https://www.606v2.com/t30132-eirebilly-op-updated-02-06-2012 and I'm sure we'll all continue in sending the positive thoughts and good wishes to him and his family.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the snooker table, brought in especially for Billy. And I'm not quite sure how that picture of a sheep got above the bar.....

Nice one Rory.
I haven't heard anything back from my agent about the 2 interviews last week, which possibly isn't that promising (though they could be going through interviewing other candidates - or on holiday for the short week). Until I get to the dentist on Saturday I don't feel like doing any follow-ups, so I haven't chased. Plus I'm enjoying the stuff I'm working on currently

Staggy - glad to hear the domestics are going well. I don't suppose there was a right/wrong answer to my question really...it was a matter of opinion I think.
Hope the news s good for your interviews Kiwi and Rory.

True Rava, but it's still a tough one to answer immediately on the spot. Unless you're uber confident and know exactly what to say without really thinking about it too much.

Actually it's pretty much the team most fans would have picked maybe except for the wings! Pretty bold selection. Exciting to see if it pays off.

Is it a bit sad how excited we are that Kidney picked a good XV? You'd expect that this would be the norm.

Yeah... it's unfortunate.

Notch, I know that, but we are still shocked Deccie has gone for it. I would have gone Trimble on the wing and probably would have brought Gilroy. (Zebo seems to be coming in for a lot of criticism though.)

A bit too much positivity as well; the lack of indignation is unsettling. I'm used to bellyaching about the Ireland team, there has been suspiciously little.
You know, all of those things. Where have they been? Everybody is pleased with the selection and looking forward to the game. It's unsettlingDeclan Fitzpatrick is a good clubman who'll be shown up, Dan Tuohy is too short, Jamie Heaslip is a Leinstur showpony, Conor Murray is far too slow getting the ball away, Sexton is a unpredictably violent man, Zebo can't defend, Earls is a winger and doesn't have the awareness for centre and McFadden is a centre who doesn't have the awareness for winger.

I'm excited to see what Zebo can do when we have the ball, I know he still has plenty of rough edges to his game but this is a great opportunity for him to develop. He'll benefit hugely.

That'll all change Saturday afternoon when the blame starts being dished out
More seriously, Hound if you're about, do you know if the Wheatsheaf is opening for the game on Saturday morning?

The name of the new italian Pro12 side has been confirmed. "Zebre" (Zebras). Will they play in black and white stripes? I do not know.

Good aft regulars.
Kidney must be on acid or summat. Have to say, that despite the obvious injury replacements (Fitzpatrick & Tuohy for Ross and POC) I am impressed that he has picked Zebo. It shows intent to change.
Glad he's dropped Darcy and Trimble. They are patently slowing up/off form respectively. BUT, why has he put McFadden on the wing and Earls at 12? It's arse-about-face. Jeeeesus. SBW will eat him alive. Having BOD there is so vital. I can see Earls and BOD switching positions throughout the game. Like ver ver fast, when the Kiwi centres are running at them.
I can understand why he is persisting with the Murray/Sexton partnership. It is defensively solid. Its young yet and it needs more time to gel. It just needs Murray to get the ball moving quicker a-la-Reddan.
Great to see Cave on the bench. Lets be having him on at 13 and move BOD to 12 for a spell.
All things considered.... Good man Deccie.
Believe.

Gibbo - it seems that BOD while always wearing the 13 shirt, will actually be the inside centre with Earls outside him. BOD owns the shirt pretty much, which I am not a fan of, but sure. I don't like McFadden on the wing, but I am happy with the team overall.
Which wing is on Savea's side? I feel sorry for them, and neither McFadden nor Zebo are great defenders.

Yeah they're on Sky Sports 2 from 8:00am so I'm sure there'll be pubs with it on. Wetherspoons over here is open for breakfast (and alcoholics) from half seven.

You're welcome Rory.
Oi Gibbo, never mind all that business. What about the totty count? Ireland's looking seriously depleted since Wally's retired and My Boy's injured. I'm hoping there'll be plenty of Ferg and Chilli.

If you go in on Friday evening and speak nicely to the people behind the bar, Doyle's Glenbrook Bar in Adrigole will open by request!! They will put Sky onto whatever channel you want. They also do decent toasties; also has free wi-fi; Hostel + camp site next door and bus stop across the road.

The work I'm currently doing will build the experience I need at least, and I'm on the company's radar. Their offices in Kensington are quite nice too, and would have cut my commute a little.

Ah, it's a long tale of mutual oversensitivity and crossed wires. It's very disappointing. People need to be treated differently based on their personalities, some people are more sensitive than others and need to be kept happy. It's ultimately our (the Ulster fans community on this site) loss if fences can't be mended.

T the kurfuffle started over something Geoff said about andress and Exeter. Asbo took him down a peg perfectly justifiably, I weighed in with a cheeky wee comment of my own and I have done countless times, and Geoff ain't been back since. No mallice or nastyness and if he can't take a bit of debate good ridance to him. 'Contacts' or not.

Willy, thanks, appreciate your comment. I have no wish to see geoff leave the forum, he seems very much appreciated by many Ulster fans. I find it slightly ironic that geoff's original remark was ok because it was "only Exeter" - if someone said that about Ulster, there would be (perhaps justifiably) outrage from the same posters. Ah well, hope it doesn't damage relations, Exe and Ulster have always worked in harmony - McKenzie, Stevenson, Tuohy, Steenson, Andress and now WhittenWillyGilly wrote:Notch wrote:The Bridge House on Dublin Road rodders.
