Scotland V Aus
First topic message reminder :
It's quite simple, Scotland have the set peice to absolutely dominate. The weather is poor, and Aus have an uninspiring backline for their standards. Scotland have the beef, and the preperation, Aus have 6 debutants!
Surely this game can only go one way?

Aus have had a perfect 1st half, they made a mistake or 2 early on, but readjusted and will hammer the Scots now. It's been a very very good Aus performance, the better set peice, and excellent defence!
If Scotland hadnt knocked on 4 times within 5m of the try line theyd be well ahead. Its ludicrous to say Aus had a perfect game when theyve relied on Scotland mistakes ( also in the scrum and lineout) to be only 3 points behind.
It wasnt until 30 minutes that they got any form of attack going, and were being pushed back in their own half toward the end. yes they have adjusted and yes they will hammer scotland in this half with the wind on their side but to claim a side that played most of a half in their own 22 and relied on opposition mistakes had a perfect half is silly.

Lets see how well Scotland go this half then shall we? See how good Aus performance was 1st half!
Aus wind in their face conced 2 long range penalties and went in 3 points down = Excellent!!!!

Re: Scotland V Aus
Why is it this ref wants to make no calls at all. Clear penalty Scotland there and he wants to give the scrum, and he should've penalised Rennie for that knockdown!!
The scrums and breakdowns are a non contest and the ref wants to look the other way!

Classic Fijian rugby there! why bother tackling the japanease player, when you can grab one without the ball and throw him into the one who actually has the ball. 2 birds one throw!

We both said that Aus will hammer them in the second half.
If the Aus performance was so great how were they 3 points down at home to the 12th ranked side in the world playing badly? You talk some rot at times.
Neither side played well.
Aus wont have to play well to win this.
10 minutes into the half and Aus have created less pressure and chances than Scotland did, although I dont imagine their handling will be as bad when they do comes.

try for Fiji 9-12 now with conversion to come. Number 14, the Fijian that took the karate chop hand off earlier.

I feel sorry for australia their trying to promote rugby union in this part of Australia and the elements have worked against them, this is an awful trench warfare battle of attrition.

This ref is a bloody moron. Oz did it 15/20 times’ last half easily, and now he’s decided to call it. We only want consistency.

Now Scotland are getting a hiding from the ref at the breakdown. Pocock was cleared out within a second or two.

How do Scotland compete, 4 rucks on the bounce 2 men seal the ball off, how do you get the ball when the competition is not allowed from one team?!

Play nicely Alyn. This thread focuses on Scotland's glorious forthcoming failure and no other game.

Sure but no harm is having another stream up along with the Scottish one, at least there is entertainment in the Japan / Fiji game.
This game has karate chop hand offs, and unique tackling where you grab the nearest Asian and launch him at his team mate whom has the ball knocking him flat.
At least it alievetes the boredom of the next 20 minutes of Australian scrumaging.

Well bluesman looks like we were both wrong about aus running away with it in this half.
Wales must be watching this and licking their lips.

Blairs is way too fair!!!
Peter your right mate, Aus are getting frustrated by the defence.
I don't think Wales will be licking their lips though, the breakdown is going to be key, if Aus are allowed carte blanche again it'll be one long day in the office for Wales!

It'll be different team... different venue, PSW. A few changes in store.
Also, hopefully there won't be a gale in Brisbane on Saturday.

Well played Scotland, forcing a drop from Barnes. We are running out of ideas, why not just trust the backs?? But good defence from Scotland for sure

Yeah and the likes of Pocock will be crackered. The gale hasnt helped them break down Scotland in this half.
Sure theres reasons why scotland have stayed in this game but its really not vintage stuff given Aus generally slaughter NH sides at home. Wales are a far better side than Scotland, and are less likely to knock on in the 5m zone. Aus should be worried about that test.

What an idiot. Have you seen the weather? A Blues fan saying a team suck at rugby. Oh the irony.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH - JUSTICE!
Come on Scotland you deserve this, you created far more than Aus have this half. I will gladly conced I may have overestimated that first half from Aus, good but if Scotland can match it not that good.
