Potential Khan v Mayweather.

If the potential fight between Khan and Mayweather did happened, what plan would you expect Mayweather to adopt?

Mayweather has grown quite comfortable into welterweight, he clearly looked bigger and stronger than Mosely when they met, so he obviously has the physicality to put pressure on Khan, although maybe question marks over whether he has the stamina and endurance to enforce a similar plan to Peterson could arise, due to his age, and the fact in his last fight against Cotto was probably one of the first times I've really seen him breathing heavily.

So firstly do you feel that Mayweather could pull of a game plan based around constantly pressuring and bullying Khan, and secondly, which was really the reason I wanted to make this thread is, that if he was to adopt a game plan like this, how would you view it?

I feel it would show us a different dimension to Mayweather, although it would obviously not be in the same league as Ali v Foreman, due obviously to the fact that Khan is no Foreman, and it is already apparent that Khan is weak against pressure fighters, whereas it appear Foreman had no weaknesses. But it would show us another string to the bow of Mayweather, maybe it could enhance his legacy, by showing us how diverse a boxer he can be, and that he can implement any game plan to exploit the weaknesses of his opponents?

Because Khan has looked so inept on the inside, maybe you feel that Mayweather would have more to gain (in terms of recognition) from just out boxing Khan for the 12 rounds. Obviously the perfect game plan lies somewhere in the middle for Mayweather, as I feel at his age it could be dangerous to just rely on his speed, and reflexes to out point Khan.

So I put it to you what plan would you rather see Mayweather adopt, and which do you feel would be the biggest accomplishment, Mayweather going outside his own comfort zone to out hussle and bully Khan, or Mayweather beating Khan at his own game?

(Sorry first post, just something that came to me reading someone's comment on the Danny Garcia thread, and wanted to put it forward, hope I don't come forward as a massive novice (Which I am :P))

Throw shots to stop his flurries and bully him with his strength.

I forgot to add, maybe you just see is as a win, and it's the name that adds to a legacy rather than the manner in which you go about that win that matters?

Interesting fight because of the attributes involved. Khan is fast and tall and youthful, so I imagine May would look to get insside a lot quicker than usual, as Khan is poor on th einside and May has an all round great game.

Mayweather would be forced to be more aggressive I think, because standing back is only going to encourage flurries form Khan at distance.

I'd like to see it. Why not.

Whatever style Floyd adopts he will beat Khan. The first round will be closely contested, the second round will be edged by Floyd and all the way to round 11 it will be all Floyd until Khan eventually falls. His heart and determination coupled with his speed will keep him going. But in this fight I would hope Roach shows some heart and pulls Khan out.

dont think it will happen now. khan needed to get a big enough following to earn the fight. he was on his way to doing it and still is, but peterson has set him back by a year or so and mayweather may also be set back a while with prison. time is not on his side

Khan has a bad style for mayweather imo but mayweather is just that much better that I don't think it'll matter. Mayweather will be slower for a first but his ring IQ will trump khan. He has looked more aggressive since Mosley and will do the same with khan. He worked very well in the inside vs cotto using sharp uppercuts and worked the body well. He will be able to move khan about the ring and will position and unload with precise hard shots when he get shim on the ropes

right now if they were to fight i think once mayweather figures out khan, it'll be a boxing lesson.

id love to see it though and id love khan to win.

I really don't understand why people think Khan is faster than Mayweather. Mayweathers speed is deceptive, because he usually throws one punch at a time.

I think Mayweather is every bit as fast as Khan and Pacquiao. Its an easy night for the bigger Mayweather IMO.

i think khan would do well, kind of what judah did for the first half of the fight, but mayweather will catch him and ko him at some point. thats if the fight happened now, in a years time khan could improve in that time and possibly upset the apple cart

I think that Khan could keep Mayweather at arms lenght for a good few rounds and could be close around the half way mark, but eventually Mayweather starts to close the distance and starts to pull away. I think he wins, and possibly stops Khan. The key for me is Mayweather's adaptability-he'll find a way either outbox or outfighting him

Wouldnt be surprsied to see this fight happening if Khan gets past Garcia (and looks good doing so).
Would obviously fancy Mayweather to beat Khan although perhaps in a closer fight than many expect. 116-112 would be my guess.
