The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Jedburgh
First topic message reminder :
Sláinte and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made it's way to Jedburgh, home of Greig Laidlaw who kicked the winning points for Scotland on Tuesday night.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of all of the June Internationals debutants hanging over the bar.

Dreamer, snap! I drew Croatia too. Thanks to TT's far superior knowledge I'm too.
I'm just looking at upgrading my mobile. It's I can get a good deal on a Blackberry but I've heard so many people complain about them I'm really not sure.

I was going to get a Blackberry Bold last year before I opted for my HTC one. The Bold gets (or got) really good reviews.

Evening, Kia. That reminds me, has anyone been watching the French Open? That little Italian Errani has played some great tennis and I'd never heard of her before.

Swanny - I've got a Blackberry and I'm fine with it. I guess it depends on what you want your phone use to be. Mine's a basic one as well there's better models about.
Lucky - see you tomorrow morning bright and early sunshine.
I'm off for a shower then bed. Early start tomorrow.

Cluck it, the Wales match is on Sky. Lucky, if it's pifsing down tomorrow I may join you, Hound and Penfro in the Diff, if you don't mind. If you do or it's dry I'll just listen to it on Radio Cymru...

Evening Lucky.
I stopped watching tennis when Pete Sampras was winning - he was soooo boring, even more boring than Borg. And also technology took over the game and I can't be bothered about whose serve is faster than whose?

Pete Sampras was boring as hell, wasn't he? He came across as a nice enough bloke and was evidently a great player, but he was a bit of a personality vacuum.

That's probably the best way Dreamer, reckon I'm getting waaay too involved in the details! I remember you saying you'd got a good deal, if I remember correctly you're on Orange too.
Thanks Cari, I only need texting, occasional calls and basic internet. Think I'll visit the shop and talk to someone. Enjoy the meet up tomorrow

That's all anyone needs, Swanny. Have you seen that advert for the iPhone 4 where the bloke asks his phone where his brother is and the phone shows his brother's location on a map? All very swish, but he could have phoned his brother and asked him directly!

That sort of thing is quite scary, Lucky. I read an article on "Augmented reality" recently in New Scientist. Time to unzip myself from FB, 606v2; LinkedIn; Gmail etc etc. It is scary stuff.

I gave serious thought to deleting my Facebook profile a week or two ago, Kia. In the end, I kept it for two reasons: one, I'm nosy (this is the key to Facebook's success); and two, I play chess and Lexulous on it (it's like Scrabble).

Fbook is just a really good way of me keeping in touch with my friends. Especially the ones from Uni, we've all moved so far and all over the place, at least on Fbook we all know how to contact each other without the risk of lost mobiles etc.
Anyhoo, am off for the evening, will most probs be on here for the rugby.
So excited, just the one more sleep.....Ymlaen!

Some people use Facebook to check up on ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends. That just seems creepy to me. I like it the old-fashioned way by looking in their bins.

Hey guys. I'm really worried that I won't get up tomorrow. So I'm going to check in on here first thing. If I DON'T post in here 10 mins before kick-off in the Ireland game it means I'm still asleep.
I'm up! Class.

Is the kick off at 8 or half 8? Also, thought I would give the Jukebox a kick again! Give these guys a listen, very talented Jazz artists:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtEztYjk88s
Anyone heard of them? Unfortunately the pianist and founder died in 2008.

There will be a roll-call at 8am UK/Irish time roysh?
What are we like?

Got all their albums, was privileged enough to see them twice live in concert and wish I had seen them more. One of the most talented jazz musicians of the last fifty years, lost so young

Esbjorn Svensson was unbelievable. Words like genius and prodigy are tossed around so easily they mean little or nothing now, so it's hard to describe just how talented he was. Had he lived to see old age he would have been remembered as one of the greats. We were just scratching the surface of what he could do.
I saw him live; unbelievable.

Half 8 KO? Oh man I'm still out on the town. Might just stay awake for fear of missing it. On the plus side I do now have notch's mobile number to call at certain points during the night. Oh and I've just spotted a bottle of red stag bourbon behind a pretty swell looking young bar lady. The night is yet young lads!

Nice bit of EST in here last night. I really need to explore beyond the 'Retrospective' best-of I've got.
